I think this has been the case for a while (that is why Bonds, Clements and the others should be elected to the Hall of Fame).

Royals prospect Raul Mondesi Jr. has been suspended 50 games for performance-enhancing drugs.

First-time PED offenders typically get 80 games, but Joel Sherman of the New York Post says Mondesi was able to show Major League Baseball that the banned substance he took (Clenbuterol) came from a cold medicine. The young shortstop made his major league debut in the 2015 World Series. He had been stationed this year at Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
