Outside of Boston, he is a side-show, half player.

Not knocking what he has done for Boston. He has done a lot for the org. But he is a DH and baseball fans basically dont care for players who play exclusively DH.

Enough proof for me was the Twins deeming Ortiz basically useless, and He becoming the most feared hitter in the AL about 5 minutes later........From a drastic production spike standpoint, David Ortiz stands right alongside Brady Anderson

No people had at least heard of Brady before his big Roids year. Ortiz is up there with Bautista to me. A bit player that couldn't hold on to a job, but than out of nowhere became one of the most feared hitters in baseball.
