The Manitoba Moose, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, today announced today they will not be offering a new contract to Mike Keane.
In his fifth season as Moose Captain in 2009-10, Keane, 43, appeared in 75 games where he scored nine goals and 22 assists for 31 points. In six Calder Cup playoff games last season, Keane collected two points and two penalty minutes. Over the past five seasons, Keane has scored 36 goals and 78 assists for 114 points and 244 penalty minutes in 365 games with Manitoba. In 59 Calder Cup playoff games with the Moose in four seasons, he has eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points and 25 penalty minutes. Back in 2006-07, he was the recipient of the American Hockey League’s Fred T. Hunt Award for sportsmanship, determination, and dedication to the game of hockey. Keane was also selected as the captain of the Canadian team at the 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic in Toronto, ON
