If Cleveland actually did sign him.
Why? He wont have as much protection as he did in Toronto, but he will have brantley to get on base in front of him.
His value is HR. Without Rogers, Camden, Fenway and Yankee Stadium he will be a .240/22/80.... if he stays healthy.
AL Central is not a hitter's park division.
although that is true, do we know what percent of his HRs were "cheap" homeruns... I am pretty sure most of his Homeruns would be Homeruns in most stadiums...
Leaving Toronto is hard, but EE has been one of the most consistent players in baseball for the past few seasons...
Those better than me can search baseball reference for that... but I am very confident most of his damage cane in the AL East. Last year alone, he had 9 HR that were not in the AL East (excluding two in Philly, two in Colorado and two in Arizona)
Checking quickly, he has 310 HR.
115 in Tor
16, 15, 14 in Bal, NYY and Bos
41 in Cin
12 and 10 in Phi and Ari
Everywhere else is single digits.
That doesn't really answer your question as to the distance of his HR, but it sure paints a picture.
Is the ALC the toughest division for home runs?
Kaufman, Target and Comerica seem obvious pitchers parks. But The Jake is even stingier.
If Chicago sells of Quintana, he'll get 8-9-10 games on the SouthSide against a lousy staff. But that's really his only perk with the divisional move.It is. And I don't think it's close.... well, it's close or equal to the NL East, but I'd be saying the same thing if he went to Washington.
