The entire fanbase at Radio City Hall was chanting "We want Sapp, we want Sapp!" (remember seeing it in a draft blunders vid on youtube).

Even the fans knew what was better. Considering the Jets were decent in the late 90s, Sapp might have actually gotten them to the Super Bowl in 98 when they were 12-4. The one thing they lacked was a good defensive pass rush. Yah Sapp only had 7 sacks but no doubt he was a consistent monster in the pass rush dept. Mo Lewis PAVED the way (lol) with 7 sacks OH BOY! Meanwhile Kyle Brady TORE it up with a whopping 30 or so receptions.

Guy strung together some pretty decent seasons. With Sapp on that D though in 98, possibly beat out the Broncos. Granted the Jets didn't have a good offensive game, but the problem was Davis ran all over the Jets in the 1st half giving the Jets little chance to get something going and exhausting the Jets D in the 2nd half. Sapp in there, Jets probably have 2 more opportunities in the 1st and not as tired.

Honestly I thought the Jets would get fined because it's the NFL and they don't want anymore black eyes, but I don't think what Woody said was tampering at all... I doubt the Patriots would have kept Revis to begin with. Revis got his ring (which he said he wanted) and he wanted to get paid and the Jets did it.... and he probably thought he had nothing left to prove in New England
