It is. He’s one of my favorite players
Yes Monty, I know. You're wrong about him being no different than when he was younger. He's still great and has put himself in the top 10 all time lists for most:

No one shoots like he does; not even close and at 37 he still moves without the ball as well as ever. I think he is still at or. Ear the top of his game

Greatest shooter of all time and it isn’t close.

But not a top 10 player in the league today. So many excellent players out there.

His minutes are slowly trending down, he is missing more games and overall production just isn’t on the same level as peak Curry.

Wrong again. He averaged 24.5 points per game for his career and I bet you can guess what he averaged this year;?yup, 24.5 points. Mike drop.

I don’t think the “missing more games” is accurate. He was always injured when he first came up. Always had ankle problems. That’s the reason it was such a difficult choice between he and Monta Ellis before they finally decided on Curry

Look at Monty, he found one stat and thinks he knows what he's talking about

He's in decline, but only slightly, he's still one of the best players in the sport

Have a look at the very first chart, this year vs career numbers:

I would argue that he is more important to his team than any other player in the league is to his team

No like every older player he misses more time now than when he was younger (games played is also in that link I just gave you)

He played almost every game from 2009-2017 except one year, the ankle year was 2012

He's one of those, but Jokic is more so, so is Giannis.

This is a completely different topic than if Curry has declined from his peak. He has, slightly. It's a testament to his greatness that it's only slightly. I'm not shitting on Curry here, but he's 37 and he's not as good as when he was 27, nor should he be.

He had 1 season in his early career where he missed most of it with the ankle injury.

Aside from that, he averaged 78 games a year his first 8 seasons through 2017.

Since then he has played more than 70 games once.

No we were talking MVP. Being more important to his team than anyone except maybe, as you said, Jokic speaks to his value. Most valuable does not always equal most talented

OK? Glad you've stopped arguing that he is just as good as before.

You said that.

He did not agree with you.

There are others too.

But yes, obviously Warriors aren’t going anywhere without Curry.

Yeah, I saw that stat that the other guy posted. That surprised me. Seemed like he was always fighting ankle problems

That is a myth.

Warriors were able to sign him to a bargain of a contract because the timing of the ankle injury occurred right before he reached restricted free agency.

There was definitely concern at the time that it could be an issue that would be chronic an affect his entire career, but it did not play out like that.

You misread my post. I was agreeing with his take that Jokic might be more valuable to his team but disagreeing that Curry was not mvp caliber since he is more important to his team than anyone in my opinion. Just look at the Minnesota series as evidence of that

A lot of people wanted to keep Ellis and not Curry as I recall it

They played a good team without their best player.

Would have been similar result without Butler.

Being MVP caliber is about more than just your team needing the player to win. Very few teams you can remove the best player and expect them to win in the playoffs.

But with the Warriors they had zero chance of winning that series without Curry. They weren’t even competitive. The roster was poorly constructed (way too small) and poorly used by Kerr. Only the greatness of Curry kept them competitive
