Jake Long had 2 really good games before falling apart in Dallas. That might be a level of competition thing or it might have just been a bad day. We'll see.

Having a team fall behind by double digits 3 games in a row is a bad, bad, bad, bad sign. We really shouldn't be expecting this poor play from this team.

Teams should be running against us. We play Nickel a lot which is why we have so much money invested in our dline. We have more people on the field committed to stopping the pass. Teams should be better at running against us and yet we get gashed in the air every game. The secondary still has to be addressed.

No problem Blue. You can agree with whomever. The issue with KSU is thinking that I was writing off Long with one bad game because we are discussing a future draft on this thread. I mentioned all of what you stated on my post-game analysis thread and others have as well. I was stating that IF long continues a slide started in the Dallas game, THEN, I might think about writing the guy off as I stated in the OP. Barksdale is doing a decent job at RT and I was suggesting we take Matthews if we finish high in the draft order to fill the void that Saffold most assuredly create when the Rams choose not to sign him. If Barksdale continues to improve then Matthews stil would be a good selection.

If we finish low, then the point will probably be mute because Matthews will be gone. I also suggested we may trade up to get Matthews in other threads like we did with Austin and not pass on that good of a lineman. Man things can get blown way out proportion quickly when someone misreads or misinterprets what was written.

Agree with Retro. I predict OT and DT.

No problem retro my friend, I want a L-OT in the draft anyway, whether Long plays well or not. If Long plays well then RT until he is done. Mathews is the most certain to succeed due to genes. In my opinion, the line will struggle with the running game especially anyway because every back we have sucks. Why we have not contacted the Lions for a certain back is beyond me. I think the Rams will play hard on Thursday and maybe another close win or tie is in the works.

Retro my boy... I gotcha now. I took my frustration from everyone else essentially throwing the entire team under the bus out.. and you just happened to get my vitriole!!
I am 100% in favor of Jake Long moving to RT next year and drafting a legit stud cornfed LT

Not a bad selection but you can get a bigger version with NFL experience right now by signing John Skelton to a back-up slot. 6'5", 250 lbs with a rocket arm.

No thanks. Would rather have a leader and better QB like Derek Carr instead of someone convicted of sexual battery.

Hell, if we are talking about big guys who have a gun for an arm.. there is a kid who has fallen out of favor with his current coach who is 6'6" 245 and has a cannon that only needs to be recalibrated (aka his accuracy has taken a hit lately)... his name?? JOSH FREEMAN!!

But in March of 2010, Mettenberger was arrested outside of a local bar after allegedly grabbing the breasts and buttocks of a woman, and also was charged with underage consumption and possession of alcohol, possessing fake identification and disorderly conduct-obstruction. He ultimately pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery, the alcohol-related charges were dropped, and he was sentenced to two concurrent, 12-month probationary periods under the state of Georgia's first-offender act. He also was ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and 40 hours of community service.

I actually think he would be great to bring to talk to a particular DB who tends to like his alcohol while he drives. doesn't mean we have to draft him :/

Well Red_Chaos. He'd have to join Roger 's druggie and addiction corp that includes the likes of Chris Carter and Deion Sanders. That would be a separate issue then the Rams drafting him.

I dont know when he is eilgible. But I would trade half the team and a few of the cheerleaders for Johnny Manziel warts and all.

IDK Ozarkram. Manziel reminds me a little of Pat Hayden. Have we not had enough of short undersized players? Yea, he is more mobile but I see a lot of batted down passes with this guy. I may be wrong, but I'd have to take a bigger QB than Manziel even with all of his potential upsides.

kid keeps winning but his attitude isn't desirable. curious to see what would happen when things don't go his way

Retro and Red I just see this kid as the second coming of Joe Willie with wheels. And hell alittle attitude in a QB might be nice for a change. I have been wrong before tho. lol

IDK Ozarkram. Joe Willie had one helluva an arm, a quick release, and accuracy beyond beliefHe could strike at will. He also had a great O-line in front of him. Manziel is mobile that is for sure but put him in the pro game where the speed he will not be used to and I see this kid becomeing a head case in a heartbeat especially if he starts getting beat-up a little which will happen for a team that chooses him.

Hey you wont find a bigger Joe Willie fan than me. But Joe Willie was 6'2 and 200, Manziel is 6'1 210, Hayden 5'11. I dont know how well his game will translate to the pros but if the kid had ,had two more minutes he would have beaten Ala again this year (MHO) and I dont know if the Rams could.
