Finally, I don't really understand exactly why the Chip Kelly offense is so difficult to defend.

The Eagles have exactly two speed guys - DeSean Jackson and McCoy. Vick isn't that fast, and neither cooper or Avant are speed guys. What the redskins should have done is bracket DeSean Jackson all game long, bring everybody up into the box, and make Vick throw it to others.

Haslett should have blitzed up the middle WAAAYYY more often in the first half.

I don't get it.

It's like the entire coaching staff and team has a collective brain fart for half a game, before they figure something - anything out.

The Eagles were better than expected on offense, but they weren't THAT great. It isn't THAT hard a scheme to account for. You wanna run the spread? Jam the wr's on the line, disrupt the timing, and blitz the qb.

Yea, I agree. This offense is just football. Nothing special. Having said that we need to sure up this defense and in a hurry. Rak was nowhere tonight and now Kerrigan may be held out of next weeks game. A must win in week two. Gotta love it.

And there is a very high likelihood that the Skins will avoid him for the next meeting. Two of the biggest issues with that offense are turnovers & the fact that Vick is vulnerable to injury. He was already hurt towards the end of this season. I would make a big wager that he will not last through this season & may miss games within the next month or so.

I doubt that any other opponent has trouble containing the Kelly offense. It's a hurry up on hyper speed. Big deal. Box in Jackson, bring up a safety to cover Vick or McCoy, and shade towards celeb. Done and done.

An annoying loss considering the redskins beat themselves literally (here are two points for you, and why don't I miss a field goal while I'm at it) and figuratively (not flying to the ball carrier, not tackling well at all, poor clock management, poor blocking, poor adjustments).

We only struggled because of the early turnovers and got winded, some of those turnovers wouldn't of happened if Griffin played healthy and in the preseason.

Eagles got a gift tonight.

Nice assessment. No excuses, we need to fix the sloppy play and move on. It's very early in the season. I'm optimistic about this team down the stretch. Time to turn our eye towards GB.

Agree. I would add a few more things. One of the biggest positives appeared to be RG3 staying disciplined & not relying on his legs as much. Hopefully - he maintains this approach throughout the season. Wins are great, but his health has to be priority # 1. Also - the receivers overall appear to be very promising. In addition to Reed - Hankerson had a very good game as did some others in the 2nd half.

On the negative side - the secondary overall was poor & unfortunately a lot of that play will probably continue at least for a while. We need to be realistic. Guys like Rambo are unproven rookies. Even if they have good overall careers it is expected that they will struggle this year. You have to be patient with them. Hopefully - I am wrong, but I am not going to get too upset if they make lots of errors over the course of the season. The pass rush is going to have to step up somewhat to compensate for this which they did to a certain extent in the 2nd half.

To expand on your last two points (penalties & tackling) I would state that perhaps the biggest weakness last night (especially in the 1st half) was coaching. The team look unprepared & flat at the start. You also have to hang part of this on Shanahan not preparing RG3 for the 1st half. I can accept this now, but it certainly appeared that the 1st half was his preseason & he needed that time to shake off the rust. He came back strong in the 2nd half, but it was too late to overcome the damage.

Again, another HORRIFIC post. You just dont know anything about football outside of the Redskins. Vick is MUCH faster then Lesean McCoy and dusted him in a 40 yard dash race they had in preseason.

Well over 425 yards passing by Vick, Desean had almost 200 yards so thats ANOTHER team that couldnt contain our Offense. Youre pathetic. I cant wait to see your excuses after losing to the Packers. 500+ yards of offense bro. Yes the D is one of the worst in the NFL but the offense sure aint.
