No, I was not in the military, but learned to respect those who are. My dad's father had his leg blown off in the Philippines, and my mother's father lost his foot from frostbite at the Battle of the Bulge. My dad got out of the military a few months before his unit was sent to Vietnam, and he pretty much forbade me from joining. Don't project your feelings or beliefs on others. Some people just want to serve, and it's disgusting that you degrade them. Nothing you've said about people who join the military is true. You just have an agenda, and it frankly sickens me.

I worked in alternative school with troubled kids for a long time and they went to the military cause they couldn’t get into college. I don’t know why you’re ripping me over this, it’s common knowledge. It does come off as insulting but I’m not trying to be. I’m not defending UCLA I’m saying how much of a beautiful place it is and the vast majority of kids would rather live in paradise then join the military.
