This is funny as hell, he wants to see their character, really? in exchange for what, his own lack of the same? OK, I get it and I suspect so does the rest of this team that's measuring the character of this organization and how it operates with respect to building a winning team.
So, you felt as if something had to be done about your pro-bowl alternative safety D.J Swearinger and that thing was to release him. Well, how incredibly stupid was that? Worse, what message did the entire NFL world get from such a move concerning the value that you and your bosses have concerning the best interest of your own team over an ego driven PR bruise?
You wanted him off of the team and that's fine, but clearly releasing him was doubly hurtful when suspending him, then trading for value would have yielded something, a draft pick, or perhaps another player that could have been beneficial to the team, instead of the nothing burger that releasing him got you!
