I will give you a hint...
Someone just left the game and was being worked over on the sidelines.

.... Vick is our starter but Foles can do ok in this offense because its more about quick accurate passes and not Vicks running.

That isn't necessarily true. I am not a spread football guru, but I don't need to be to understand that the threat of Michael Vick pulling the ball down and running throws a completely different wrinkle into this offense. When Foles is snapped the ball..he is either going to (A) Hand the ball off to the RB or (B) Pass it with or without a fake. There is no need for a "spy" on Nick Foles or for a LB or S to stay behind and defend against him running. An extra defender to be somewhere else (flying to the ball, dropping back in zone, whatever..). That changes things defensively..alot.

Kelley ALWAYS had QBs at Oregon that could run the ball (Dixon and Masoli just to name a couple), so why would that be any different in the NFL??

I see no way that a foles type player runs this offense anywhere nearly as effective as a player with Vick's capabilities. I lambasted Kelly when I saw he chose Vick to start, but now I understand why. Foles won't be on the Eagles next year, he gets traded in the offseason.

I was throughly impressed with what Kelly did with that offense. Having said that, I'm not sure it can hold up. Running that many plays at that pace, you have to burn through guys. They get tired and when they do, injuries happen. I also think now that there is tape, DCs have a much better chance of game planning. It still won't be easy to stop, as its all predicated on quick actions and decisions with simple reads on an individual player, not dissimilar to our read option plays.

Oh I agree completely with all of your points. Eventually, DCoordinators will be able to game plan against it better and take away something. Obviously the divisional teams will be much more ahead of that in playing them twice a year.

Although I have seen several places insisting that the Eagles "took their foot off the gas", I have seen nothing saying that they may have been a little bit gassed theirselves. There is absolutely no way you can run 75-100 plays a game without either being dead tired or having some serious depth at all positions.

of course they were gassed. i just don't see those big linemen keeping that pace up all year. They better have some serious depth (which they don't) across the line. Hell, I can't see McCoy keeping that pace up all year. Brown is no where near the back McCoy is. Brown is their Royster. Serviceable, but a huge drop off when he comes in.

Maybe I am looking at/reading it all wrong..but many make it seem like they could have continued at that pace..but just didn't. Regardless, if they get up several touchdowns on any team, it could be hard to overcome that, gassed or not.

Wrong, very wrong. Brown has to over come fumbling issues like many star RBs have but many people think he is the best #2 in the NFL. He is an absolute beast and a physical freak. 6 foot, 230 pounds and is the fastest guy on the team. When they pulled McCoy last year he had 150 yards game then 179 yard game the next week. He is an excellent #2 and could be a top notch RB if McCoy wasnt on the team. He dominated in preseason also. RB is the one position we have depth at. Coming out of high school he was the #1 player in the nation and the #1 recruit. I dont think you guys know Brown very well.

Also, our OLine trained differently over the summer in preparation for the speed up offense. If you listened to the game the announcers said that the Eagle scheme keeps the OLine tight and they dont have down field responsibility to keep them from running around too much.

Where is the classy fan that can step up and just admit you got beat? Doesnt mean you wont win the division.

Fantasy Island. Romo is one of the toughest players in the league, if anyone is going down it is the Redskins brittle QB at the hand of Matthews. Green Bay huge

Does that include anybody outside of Philly?

I'm thinking.....no.

Bryce Brown got his big numbers against the sieve like Dallas Defense missing a lot of players towards the end of the season, and the panthers defense - not exactly world beaters. That represented 61% of his rushing total for the year, despite playing in every game.

He's a nobody. Sorry.

That idiot cowboy fan thinks Choko "is one of the toughest players in the league," and now this?

What the foook is wrong with you clowns?

Sorry but your wrong. So just anyone can run for over 150 yards back to back weeks with probably the worst OLine in the NFL last year. We were down to 3rd stringers and guys signed off the street. Its hard to give a back up tons of carries when you have an all pro ahead of you. Bryce Brown could be a star in this league and if you knew anything about the Eagles you'd know he probably is the best #2 in the league. He will get 8-10 touches a game this year which is a ton for a back up playing behind a star. Its hard to know the depth on every team in the leagur but Bryce Brown is a complete stud if he can over come his fumbling issues. He is MASSIVELY talented he just wont get the ball a ton to become a household name.

Look, you've got a ton to be excited about in Philly. I don't think anyone on this board is denying we got punched in the face for the first half of this game or lost at the end of it. Congrats on the win. Philly game planned perfectly for us in game 1 and we got beat.

But it is still a sample size of 1 game. It's a long season. Let's see where we're all at 6 games in. We are not the only people discussing the sustainability of this style of spread read. Don't take it too personally or get insulted if we are not as gung ho as you are about your offense.

IMO, if you can stay healthy, you've got a good chance to have a great, competitive season.

You mean "classy" like yourself. This coming from a guy that just posted that RG3 will get injured this season. Laughable.

I give props to the Eagles for the victory on Mon. It doesn't mean that they will continue in this manner for the rest of the season. Be careful about bragging too much about your team. I have seen tons of Eagles fans do this in the recent past only to eat crow later in the season. Do the words "Dream Team" mean anything to you?

Caliskins fan... thats why I said the game doesnt matter. You guys are still better then Philly and might still win the division anyway.

SoCalWizFan.. Huhh? Someone predicted all the Eagles to eventually get injured and I mocked him for that. Im an RG3 fan and would hate to see him get hurt. He is 100% a class act and will be a thorn in our side for atleast a decade. I didn't brag at all about the Eagles cause I still think they are an 8-8 team at best. I defended Bryce Brown but I didn't bring it up. THe original poster said the Eagles cant do anything but give the ball to McCoy and I said, "What about Desean Jacksons 100 yard 1 TD first half", I said, "What about Celeks 30 yard TD". I didnt come out saying how great those players are and I never said the Eagles were great. I was just speaking to a few fans who acted like Philly is garbage. THey arent an elite team and wont make any noise in the playoffs... but they do have some talent, especially the OLine and RB. Im pretty sure the D will get exposed, eventually.

Without McCoy in the game. Please try not to represent what I say.

So to answer my own question, "No, nobody outside of one jackass eagle fan thinks that bryce brown is the most talented #2 rb in the game." Bravo, chooch.

Its still an absolutely moronic post. Just like the Pats fan said, "Pats are nothing without Brady", "Denver is nothing without Manning", "Minnesota is nothing without AP". Did you really notice when McCoy was out that the Eagles could do nothing. Please share with us the stats.

What makes me a jackass for thinking Bryce Brown is a talented player. I remember watching him run for 175+ yards in his first game as a starter. I remember watching him run for 165+ yards in his 2nd game as a starter. I dont blame you but evidently you dont know about Bryce Brown. Most people dont know other teams depth talent.

Pro Football Weekly Bryce Brown opened some eyes last year when he got a chance, and his STAR recruit ability was on display.

Lindys Sports 2013 Pro Football Preview Bryce Brown is a 6-0 223 pounder with sub 4.4 speed got a chance to play when McCoy got hurt. If he fixes his fumbling issues the Eagles have another star in the making.

PPF 2013 NFL rankings. Best #2 RB in the NFL, Bryce Brown. Second best Ben Tate.

Read this link Bryce Brown: Philadelphia Eagles RB is Far Too Talented to be Backup

"If it wasn’t for an incredibly rocky collegiate career, Philadelphia Eagles RB Bryce Brown could have easily been a first-round NFL draft pick. Brown was an absolute phenom coming out of high school, winning the coveted Hall Trophy in 2008, which goes to the best high school football player in all of the United States, and was also ranked as the single best player in his class by Rivals.com.

Brown’s upside is completely unlimited, and the second-year player has the potential to be one of the best running backs in the NFL. Too bad he is currently rotting on the bench behind the Eagles’ All-Pro beast who is RB LeSean McCoy.

Now feel free to apologize. Many people out there know who and what Bryce Brown can do. I guess Im not the "jack ass" Eagle fan that you thought me to be.
