they got 1 game to knock off Houston, and if they win they play either a depleted injured Blazers team or an exhausted very young Nuggets team coming off a 7 game series.

Win that and they get either the Bucks, Chokeronto, or a drama filled 76ers squad. By the time the Bucks/GS series really heats up Durant will be back.

Golden State is head and shoulders better than anyone else in this league. Again, they have a great coach in Kerr, they are still loaded with talent without Durant, and they just need 1 win to finish off Houston, with at least 1 of those games needing to be in Oracle. Then they start the WCF against a team that will be coming off a game 7 with only 1 day rest. If it is Portland, the Blazers are depleted with injuries. If it's Denver that would mean their 14th game and only having a day off and they are also very young.

They were annual favorites with their original lineup. They became overwhelming favorites when they added Durant. Everyone shook their heads when they added Boogie, even though he was a flier that was worth taking, but far from a sure thing (an accurate assessment as it turned out). They are still favorites, albeit with a weakened depth chart.
