I saw that they recruited him. I don't know much about recruiting but if you are recruited, does one automatically assume acceptance into the school? I honestly don't know.

No because you may not qualify academically. Some schools have lower admittance requirements for athletics. I doubt Stanford is one of them.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is to hide a few "bad" admissions anyway. When I was at MIT I knew a couple of kids with sub-1000 SAT scores (this was obviously when they were out of 1600!).

MIT has athletics? I would have thought the chess club was stronger than that... :D

I don't. And my wife works with a guy that played football there for 4 years and he's confirmed this.

Made the division 3 Final Four in basketball a few years ago actually.

And the guys I was referring to didn't get sneaked in because they were good athletes anyway (although one of them was).

Which is my point. It shouldn't be assumed that he met Stanford's academic requirements just because they recruited him.

So I guess we will overlook this simple fact so some can continue to make fun of him.

Overlooking things helps to promote the narrative. It's like if I tell you that black doctors and lawyers exist. Well, in order for you to strengthen your argument that they do not, your argument is dependent on you ignoring the fact I stated.

But we are free to assume that he didn't.:laugh3:

Rather presumptuous, no? I didn't say anything of the kind. I'm saying it never reached the point, where he would have to meet their standard of admission.

Well, when we already hold certain viewpoints of certain demographics, it's the equivalent of guilty until proven innocent.
And in some cases, guilty even after proven innocent.

Didn't you call him the dumbest heisman winner?

It wasn't a statement, it was a question based off his inarticulate way of speaking. And various other observations.

Generally people who dont want to be judged as idiots have a little better grasp of the English language.
Maybe young Einstein should take an extra course or 2.

Well it looked dangerously close to a rhetorical questions. I have had AP students speak like him and be incredible writers. So speaking ability isn't always an indication of someone's intellect.
