I’m going to start a critically important series. This is your opportunity to shine. As dull as I am, that won’t take much.

today’s question:

Is Ja’Wuan Janes tradeable?

Maybe some team that has someone on their team that is disliked and has a bad contract?

If that happened, does that change our draft priorities at 9?

There is a spectrum on the insanity and sanity scale that would indicate there has to be someone out there who would trade for Ja'Wuan James and mental health services are scarce - so there is hope for your dream Springer.

If it did happen - drafting a top RT would seem to be a likely possibility when you consider how many people are sure to be on the sanity side of the spectrum.

I do not think James is tradable with his contract, and the questions about his want to play. The only way he is tradable is if another team has a play that would interest the Broncos with with an equally as bad of contract.

If we were to trade or release James (I heard some rumblings the Broncos might out right release James post June 1) I do not think it changes anything at 9. I think between Wilkinson and Anderson we will have a reasonable option at RT. I think we need to draft a Tackle as we might need a new RT going forward, and this would give them a chance to develop under Mike M.

James stays we'd miss those 68 snaps a year non covid years.

No- He is not tradeable, IMO.

For reasons JDBaker mentioned.

I am curious if someone can break down his contract in terms of if we release him this year, when the best time is to release him??? Or is this something where the Bronco faithful think a year away to get his mind right, and fully healthy perhaps actually REALLY benefited James. I think it is tough for us to answer this question but I would really be curious where he is at mentally after a year off, because his mentality has been a major question mark... Has the year off helped or hurt him?

There have been some comments about him opting out, and there maybe some damage control if/when he comes back into the Broncos locker room.

I mean a lot of players opted out. I think people need to be understanding of him opting out this year. That being said.... I think the tough thing for James is that there were already questions about his commitment before this, and this surely doesn't help... But like all the other players that opted out for whatever reasons... I understand.

Right. Has he been working diligently on his physicality or eating bonbons? I’m sure the people that need to know have an inkling. Especially at his level of team resource consumption.

I’ve been giving some thought to Slater at #9 recently. Another blue chip investment in the OL doesn’t seem like the worst use of a high pick.

Maybe this answers your questions, DC. Dated January 2021

I would be disappointed if we use a top 10 pick on an OT considering the holes we have on defense. With Anderson and Wilkinson on the roster the depth there is better then what we have at any of ILB, CB, and S. I do hope we select an OT that Munchak likes and believes he can develop.

Munchak has been developing OTs for years now - time to play them. IMO

I don’t disagree with your premise. I hadn’t thought much of OL in the first until recently. If coaches think there are questions there because of James, maybe they draft some insurance. Have to see what has been done to the roster by draft day. A lot will change and the picture will emerge. I do like Slater’s positional flexibility, though.

I'd love Slater at 9. That would solidify our line for years to come.

That’s what I was thinking, too. Insurance and flexibility.

The draft would look like this. ;)

That’s enough players to start a minor league team!

13 picks from the Niners and 8 from the patriots mostly for the next two drafts. I’m good, but then you guys already knew that.

You graduated to 8 tracks. Good job!
I've always been a few generations behind advances in personal music playback. I'm up to cassettes at the moment.
