I doubt he plays. This sounds like gamesmanship on Arian's part. He wants Seattle to have to spend extra time preparing for Stanton when he probably won't play. Everything I've seen or heard has indicated he's real loooong shot and even if he did play how effective could he be at less than 100%?
No way he plays if reports on the injury were accurate. Talk about putting a guy in harms way before he's ready.
I love the Cards, but it's silly to think the Seahawks are game planning any differently for Lindley or Logan Thomas. They are both horrible and should be on a practice squad somewhere. Seattle will assume each guy can't throw and try to force the issue. Which terrible player is out there is irrelevant.
Seattle will focus on stoping the Az run game. It doesn't matter who will be QBing the Cards. That man will be forced to throw into the LOB on 2nd/3rd and long.
Unless he can escape the pocket when needed, I'd never play him. Lets be honest here, is he better than Lindley, hell yes. But that's not saying much at this point.
The Cards need a young QB that can win games for many years to come. This graveyard for old QB's gives us a few years of decent QB play, but I'm ready for this team to have a QB for the next 10 plus years.
A 50% Palmer is better than 100% Lindley, but Stanton? I just don't think it's worth the risk. Losing HFA would suck, but we're still in the playoffs and if Stanton gets shelved for good because he was rushed back you can kiss a playoff win goodbye.
Let Stanton heal, try to win with what you have, and pray Ryan Lindley doesn't suck as much as we all know he will.
Many Cardinal fans don't realize that the Difference between Palmer and Stanton is pretty vast.... Palmer is a considerably better QB... the Difference between Stanton and Lindley however... isn't nearly as much as many think.
In this offense... Lindley can be serviceable...especially with Arians propensity for taking deep shots. Its just going to be if he can limit the mistakes.
Remember Cardinal fans.. it's not fair to compare Ryan Lindley playing for an out the door HC, on a team that had quit (2012) to this years version...
This years team wouldn't care if they took a kid from Scottsdale High and played him at QB.. they'd still get after you.
