Lock is dropping like an anchor.

Lock's college numbers don't speak well for what he can do in the NFL. He struggled mightily against good college defenses and shined against lesser opponents. As college QB's go he was rather, meh!

Great pick. I cant believe he fell to us. Synder wanted him and I believe he made the right choice. I liked Haskins better than Jones. Giants could of gotten Jones at 17. What idiots.

this was a solid choice. For sportster72 there is no James do it all safety in this draft.

Ahhhh, so you meant ONE guy was deserving … not the position. Which of course was my position.

You are the Fonz, in all the years I have been on this forum you have never said you were wrong. Even after you said there wasn't a train coming and it ran your ass over. :pound:

Now that Haskins is on board, isn't it time to take the cap hit for Alex Smith? It's clear that they are moving on so what's the point of holding on for another year? In fact as part of the payout they can offer Smith the opportunity to teach Haskins some of the finer points of the game, while he rehabs correct?

June 1st so we can spread most of it into next year. If he is designated as an outright cut now, it puts us $20M and some change over.

As a June 1st cut, it only puts us $4M over. Reality is, he will be Pupd, and placed on IR for the season then cut next year as a June 1st cut.

We really took it like Traci Lords on that deal the minute he got hurt.

No question, he has potential. Have to wait and see how it plays out. Hopefully DAN doesn't rush it. Name the QB who played for Urban that was any good in the NFL. How long until we see pictures of Haskins and Dan at dinner, bowling etc. etc.?

For sure Dan has the potential to screw any good thing up.

But what urban QBs have been 1st round picks? Tebows the only one I can think of and he was a joke prospect so I don't think urban is a concern.

Haskins success is up to Haskins and unfortunately...Dan.

Damn I wish that we were able to select more than one emoji per post! I appreciate the info on June 1st cuts, that helps a lot and the Traci Lords comment was hilarious!!:suds:

Griffin was not a better prospect, he played in the NFL just like I thought he would. Now Mahomes …. I was dead wrong.

Now that's just revisionist history.

Griffin was a monumental bust but he was also a legitimately fantastic prospect.

I think we need a WR more.

Oh we need that too. But this kid is not a scrambler. And we have sucked ass at LG for a while now. A WR is not very useful if the QB is on his ass from inside rushers. We stocked the D-line, we need o fix the O-line and get a WR or 3.

Here are our remaining draft needs as I rank them:

Guard/center... weak up the middle is weak everywhere, we just can't have that!

Wide receiver... self explanatory

Edge rusher....are there any Dexter Manley's in the 5th round?

Safety...I think that they are going to try Adonis Alexander at the spot.

Inside linebacker (maybe)

I just don't think the line is THAT bad. The WRs are that bad though.

And I think they're about equally as important to his success.
