Lakers are currently slated at 6 with something like a 21.5% shot at the top 3 and an extremely minimal chance at ending up as far back as #9.

FOr being a 1 and done draft it is deep as fuck and as long as you get a top 3 draft or top 4 with CLE drafting in front of you your pick is going to be really good.

Not LBJ or Wade, Kove or even Klove or Anthony good, but Melo good for sure.

It works like this: when one of the "elite" teams ends up in the lottery and gets the top pick, then it's rigged. When anyone else gets the top pick, it's not rigged.

There is no narrative for rigging that works out for the NBA unless both Boston and LA get the top 2 picks and the odds of that are around 1% I'm guessing.

I also think anyone in the top 7-8 will be able to spin it as getting their future star

There is a better than 1 in 5 chance that this will happen. Thats not very improbable. The Celtics odds are better than 1 in 3.

Just eyeballing things but its actually more likely that either the Celtics or Lakers get a top 3 pick then one of them not getting it. I could be reading the chart wrong

The draft lottery has been fixed for years. Lakers and celts will both pick in the top 3. The NBA wants the big market teams to be on top. Look at how many small market teams have won the lottery. Look at how many times the team with the worst record has won the lottery, very few times, the only time the small market teams win the lotto is when the talent sucks.. the bulls winning the lottery and getting rose is a good example, they had a 2 percent chance
