Yeah Cudjo isn't a slouch by all Means. I knew Langford was either gone or could be gone. But still. Your D-lineman are important but it would be great to massively upgrade the offense.

I hope Greg Robinson doesn't become
Alex Barron on passing plays aka I hold every other play.

Dion Bailey is still in play.
Project QB is in play.
There is still value at WR

I think we go in one of those directions

My thing is to. If we still have Langford, why do we need another starting DT? I can see maybe another DT later but why do we need 3 starting DTs?

they picked Donald because he was the top rated DT in the draft and fits what the rams want to do perfectly. you can't pass on a stud who has slipped just because he doesn't fit a need. no team in this draft would have took any of these safeties over Donald.

Freeman is gone. I guess the Rams think Chase Reynolds is sufficient back-up along with Bennie and the jets.

27cougar.. You most certainly pass on a defensive tackle if you've got three other beasts on the D line and you need help elsewhere for your team to be balanced. It's a no-brainer.

I'm a BPA guy. But The Dline is already stacked. Or 7-8 deep. And we are very very weak and have holes in the secondary.

My Question is: in the 1st round do U build on the strength which is te Dline or do you focus on the weakness which is your secondary or the offense?

I always say work on weaknesses.

imo you can't take a safety there if their isn't one graded that high and their wasn't. it was a gift he got pushed down because their was so much talent at the top. now i would have considered Dennard but he slipped because of durability issues but i have no problem with the best defensive line in the nfl now. they are deep but what if Brockers or Langford gets hurt. they might considering trading Langford or even cutting him and saving 4 million too. Bottom line is Donald was BPA.

Sorry Cougar. The Rams traded their one and only fifth round pick to move up to take Joyner. My error. WE have two sixth rounders and 4 seventh rounders. ESPN has an error as well. WE do not have a fifth round pick.

Maurice Alexander looks like a good pick. Hybrid SS that does a little bit of everything and could probably switch to FS or LB duties on the fly. Long, physical. Only problem I see with him is that he isnt explosive but he seems to be able to do everything. Of the two games Im looking at, they had him blitzing and pressuring in the box a lot against USC and they had him in zone coverage a lot against Wyoming. Looked good doing both. He was in man coverage a bit against USC and looked suspect.

Working with a limited sample size but its probably a good pick.

Watching on NFL Network today, Alexander was the only guy so far this round they didn't discuss. I hadn't looked at him in reading up for the draft as he was considered a late round SS by most. Off the field issues as well. Seems like a reach with other safeties still on the board and the only Rams pick for a while, but he was noted as a bit of a specialty player that will need the right scheme. Maybe Williams made this pick such a scheme?
