So maybe some you don't know but every year on this site we have ourselves a 7-round mock draft that people sign up for teams to be the GM. Anyway this year again Randymon and I are signed up for the Broncos but always like to look for help from any of you that want to put in your 2-cents. We are working on a big board as I write this but if any of you want to post your big board for each round of players that are left then feel free to do so. I will tell you at least in my opinion in the 1st round the Broncos will most likely look at the positions of OL, DL, OLB, and ILB. That is kind of where I am focused at least looking for the top guy in all of that. I have some favorites and some late round guys for each of those that I think will be big time sleepers but again just looking at 1st round talent let me know what you think or if there is another position you think the Broncos could actually look at.

I would love to be a part of something like that. If I can, I'd do the Cardinals, or I could just give my 2-cents about the Broncos to you guys.

Well I think the Cardinals have already been picked. Here is a link to the actual competition so you can see what teams are still available. Any of them that say Open next to them are ones you can sign up for.

Nos' 2nd Annual NFL Mock Draft : Chat | SportsHoopla.com Sports Forums

At this time from what I can tell Baltimore, Chicago, San Diego, and Tampa Bay are the teams still left open. Also even if you do sign up for one of these teams you are more than welcome to help us with the Broncos one. We had a lot of fun with it last year when Randymon and I were talking back and forth getting picks figured out so again the more voices and opinions the better.

I saw that thread CD, and I was tempted to take the Chargers just to screw with their draft, lol.

"With the 16th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select: Dipshit McGee, QB, Retard State."

Mel Kiper: "An interesting pick by the Chargers. McGee is a prototype of Philip Rivers and should be able to learn the ropes under his tutelage for a couple of years before taking over..."

Haha that would be incredible. I actually had one of the drafts I did last year on a different site that I was the Chargers and it was so hard to actually want to do a good job for them. I kept reminding myself it didn't actually make them a better team unless they actually took the players that I picked for them because of course I know better than them of who to pick. Anyway it is one reason I love doing this one is because I am the Broncos so I actually care a little more of who I pick and want to do a good job for them. Wish I could find last year's to see how Randymon and I did.

Actually just found the players we picked last year...

1) Dee Ford--Ended up going 23rd to the Chiefs in the real draft. Didn't do much in year one but was behind 2 of the better pass rushers in the NFL. Still showed some flashes

2) Keith McGill--Taken by the Raiders in round 4. Played more of a reserve role but is expected to start this year for the Raiders.

3) Cyril Richardson--We thought this would help leave Franklin out at the RT spot where I thought he was one of the better ones in the league. He ended up being a starter for the Bills by the end of the year in one of the better running attacks in the league.

4) Will Sutton--Ended up a 3rd round pick by the Bears and was a starter for part of the season.

5) Lorenzo Taliaferro--He went 4th round to the Ravens where he showed great promise before going to IR at the end of the season. Going to get a good chance to be a part of the 1-2 punch in Baltimore this year.

6) John Brown--So of course our best pick in the draft comes in the 6th round. One of the best rookies in all of football this past year for the Cardinals. Bit play kid.

Looking back on it now it is crazy to me that our 1st round pick was probably the guy that least contributed to a team. All of these guys though are expected to be big contributors to their respective teams this year. McGill is expected to start, Richardson is expected to have a good chance to start, Sutton should get more playing time this year, Taliaferro if healthy should get 150 carries this year, and John Brown should continue to be one of the most explosive players in the league. Ford will still be in that reserve role but I would expect the Chiefs to try and use him a bit more.

Forgot we also took Avery Williamson in the 7th who was a starter for the Titans this last year and probably their best linebacker. So kind of a mixed bag for a draft. Some good potential but also not the greatest production as rookies other than our last 2 picks.

Okay, on a serious note, I have been compiling a list of players who I think the Broncos could take with their first 3 picks. Interestingly, I have kept the selections to: OL, DT, ILB. I was considering mixing in OLB too, because after Von and Ware, its hard to say how our current LBs will fit with the changes in LB duties going from 4-3 to 3-4 base. Also, by the 3rd round, I think the team is likely to draft outside of the aforementioned positions, but those are still our main needs, so I'd say it's maybe 50-50 that with the 3rd pick we draft a different position. Maybe TE, DE, or BPA. Who knows?

Additionally, and this is irrespective of the draft game, I could see the Broncos moving up from the 3rd pick, because it seems like there is a glut of talent in the 1st 2- to 2-1/2 rounds, including a lot of players at positions we need. If we could get 3 players on the list I have made, it would be a home run draft, IMO.

Here are some prospects that I think the Broncos would do well in acquiring:

ILB:

-- Denzel Perryman, Miami. He timed a little slow in the 40 at the combine, but his on-field speed is much faster than his 40 time, and his fluid hips allow him to cover TEs and slot receivers on shorter routes. He makes plays all over the field, and what he tackles, he destroys. He is a team leader and will be a defensive captain at the next level. IMO, he will be a TOP 20 player from this draft and could be in the discussion for DROY when all is said and done. The opinions on him are varied, and I have seen him rated anywhere from the teens to 3rd round. I don't see him getting past the early second round. FYI, he is my favorite player in the draft. Can't wait to see him play at the next level.

-- Eric Kendricks, UCLA.

-- Benardick McKinney, Miss St.

-- Stephone Anthony, Clemson

-- Paul Dawson, TCU

DT:

-- Eddie Goldman, FSU

-- Jordan Phillips, Oklahoma

-- Carl Davis, Iowa

-- Grady Jarrett, Clemson

OL:

Cameron Erving, C/G/T, FSU.
This is our most likely 1st pick, IMO. He would be a great value pick at #28, and he would be a great value to the team, as he can play all over the line and has the skills to fit in the ZBS.

Ereck Flowers, T, Miami. He is likely to be drafted before #28, but would be an outstanding value if he fell to us.

Cedric Ogbuehi, T, T A&M

T. J. Clemming, T, Pitt

D.J. Humphries, T, Florida

Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon

Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn

Josie Matias, OG, FSU

One other player who caught my attention a while back is E.J. Bibbs, TE, Iowa St. He may go as early as 4th round to as late as UDFA, although I think he'll be grabbed by one of the better-drafting teams by the 5th round. He would make a nice H-back/TE as he seems to have some good blocking skills and could do some dirty work from the backfield or TE spot. That's all I've got for now.

Sounds like you guys did a solid job last year. Good luck on this one when the time comes.

Thanks DownSetHutch for your thoughts. I'm honestly torn on the ILB position. There are 3 guys that I really like. Perryman is definitely one of those. He has two really big plusses on his side in that he can definitely make that game changing hit or tackle that really changes momentum in a game and he really doesn't have that glaring weakness that makes you think he could be a bust. The other two guys I like though are Paul Dawson (he might be my favorite) in his glaring weakness is his athleticism as he is not the fastest or strongest guy but of all the linebackers in this draft I would easily say he has the best instincts of any player. He doesn't take a bad step that helps cover up some of his lack of athleticism. He is not a big hitter but he is a sound tackler and above that he is great in coverage. I saw many times where he pretty much ran the route for the receiver. Heck TCU even trusted him to cover slot receivers so should show just how good he is at coverage. My final guy I like is a bit of a project in Stephone Anthony. The guy athletically is off the charts. When he makes up his mind of where to go the guy just arrives with such force and speed it is just down right impressive. The issue I see with him is about half the plays he just keeps studder stepping trying to figure out where he should be. I would say he is one that needs a year to develop with some coaches but he could easily be a great player in a year.

On your DT list Carl Davis is the one guy I don't like. I have heard his coaches have been telling teams that he is lazy, takes plays off whenever he wants to, won't practice hard during the week because he doesn't want to get hurt, and just won't be in his playbook like he needs to. The guy has all the ability to be great but I am bigger on high effort guys than high athleticism guys most of the time. Eddie Goldman is quickly becoming my favorite player in this entire draft! Go watch this kid if you get the chance if you haven't already. He is a high energy, highly athletic, strong, fight with everything he has every single play kind of guy. He is not just a space eater but is a guy that constantly is either pushing guys straight back into the quarterback or just beating them with speed to a gap. He fits perfectly in my opinion in the 3-4 NT spot for us or on the outside. He is a guy that could play all over. I've watched a couple of his games and I can't remember him hardly ever going backwards. Usually with DL players you see them take it easy at least a handful of plays in a game but with this kid I just don't see it. He would be a huge player for Phillips to work with. Heck to me Goldman is the type of guy because he is huge in both the run game and pass game he could end up being our 2nd best pass rusher this next season behind Von Miller. So to me he fits both getting us help on the DL but also the help with the pass rush so we don't have to find that other OLB later in the draft.

Please make sure that Tyler Lockette and / or Joey Mbu are Broncos! Just my two cents.

CD, I watched some Eddie Goldman highlights and he is the real deal.

That FSU team is LOADED!! They may have the top players at: QB, TE, C, OG, OT, DT, and ILB. Fucking incredible. And at every other position, they are at least Top 5. I can't remember ever seeing that much talent come out of one school in one year. Wow.

And then there is Miami, which is also pretty stacked. 25% of the talent in the first 2 rounds may come out of the state of Florida. :omg:

Am I the only one who thinks that Winston is a very risky pick at the top of the draft? He is clearly talented, but combining his immature history off the field with going from 40/10 TDs/Int in '13 to 25/18 last year looks like a couple of red flags to me. Glad we're not the Bucs. Saw Winston force more than one throw last year that reminded me of Cutler.

Oh I think he has a very high draft bust possibility. I also think though he is the one quarterback in this draft that I could see being a top-5 quarterback in a couple of years. Yes this past year was not his best but I also think with all the legal issues plus being the defending champions just put him in a place where he was trying to force too much. The thing about him though that I just keep coming back to is when the team needed him the most to step up he was able to do it. I don't know how many games they were behind but when they needed a play somehow he just always came through. That part of the game is not something that a player can be taught.

I agree the state of Florida was ridiculous this past year. Funny how their pro teams though stunk it up. Miami wasn't terrible but you combine them with the Jaguars and hard to be a fan in Florida at this time. College football though man I wouldn't mind if our whole draft was just players from the programs in Florida. Eddie Goldman has quickly become the guy I really want the Broncos to go after. I wouldn't mind if we traded up in the real draft for him as the guy just has a motor that won't quit and he just makes plays left and right. I haven't watched a game of his where he didn't make at least one big play in the game.

Well the Broncos are almost up! Just a few picks away. At this point at least from my big board the players gone are...

Scherff--was a pipe dream anyway
Collins--Again pipe dream
Flowers--Thought he maybe stood a chance
All of the pass rushers gone
Williams and Shelton gone from the NT position

So at this point really the only 2 OL players that I like for the 1st round that are still left are Clemmings and Erving. I'm guessing one of those gets taken before our pick with Carolina still on the board needing some major help on the OL.

I'm starting to lean towards 2 guys but afraid to put them on here as another person drafting before me could see them but if you want to know just PM me or if there is a guy that you are very much wanting me to pick just let me know.

Not sure if anybody else is on but going to wait a little bit to make my pick. The Broncos are up and here are my top rated players that are still on the board...

Eddie Goldman--This is a guy that I think we can put at NT or DE in the 3-4 and this guy could blossom into a big time dominant force.

Malcolm Brown--Put up better stats but maybe not as high a ceiling and doesn't have the first step quickness that Goldman has.

TJ Clemmings--This is a guy we can plug in to the RT spot and I think he would do great for us for the next 10 years at the spot.

Cameron Erving--Another guy I think you plug him in at the Center position and I think he becomes one of the best in the league.

Well ended up going with Cameron Erving. He just made the most sense in the end as the guy can ply all 5 OL positions. So for the Broncos essentially he can go wherever say either Paradis or Schofield don't win it if they are not quite ready. I would want him at Center as I think the guy can become the best Center in the league in a matter of a couple of years but if Schofield hasn't quite reached what we had hoped then RT it is as we need a great player for the position. The Tackles in Kubiak's system are the most important part of the OL. Throw in then for the Center position we could still get either Montgomery or Myers to play the position through FA.
