You are right about the pass rush helping. But the 49ers have a bunch of injury prone players in the secondary and outside of Sherman could use a talent upgrade
Agreed.

49ers vet will judge Bosa the man, not Bosa on social media

This is sickening that he is apologizing for this. Everyone thinks Kaepernick is a clown; not just Bosa. I hope Bosa doesn't take any shit for his political views.
If I ws Bosa, my stock answer to the questions about the Kaepernick nonsense would be "I'm here to play football not talk politics, if you want to cover politics I suggest you go work for CNN"

I see a lot more than two INTs being made by the team this year. That pass rush will cause some mistakes by the opposition.

""While Samuel is tough and competitive, he lacks suddenness and might need scheme help with motion and bunch formations to help free him against NFL man coverage""

Ouch! That's not a good endorsement. A top of the second round pick and he can't get himself open? He has to be schemed open? Hmmm

""Hurd began his career at Tennessee as a running back. He led Tennessee in rushing as a true fresham, gaining 899 yars and five touchdowns on 190 rushing attempts. He was second-team All-SEC as a sophomore after gaining 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns""

Looks like my boy is pretty versatile.

I wasn't a big fan of the Deebo pick, but I completely understand it. I don't care for the Hurd pick at all. I don't care how versatile the guy is....as far as I'm concerned, he's more of a project. The 49ers are not in any position to draft projects, when there are glaring holes that could at least be addressed.

There are still guys that have dropped to today that may help this team....and I'm looking at Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Julian Love, Isaiah Johnson....or some O-lineman like Jordan.

Yeah I hated the Hurd pick I hope he proves me wrong.

Have to agree with the bold because this was Round 3. For rounds 1 to 3 stick to position players who have the potential to be 3 down players. Not saying to do this "without question", but versatility is only good AFTER you're good at one thing first. Round 3 is not the time to draft projects and it does appear Hurd isn't good at any one thing?

If you aren't a good WR nor a good RB, this is a Round 6 type pick.

I never heard of the guy until SF picked him, so after a couple of beers I figured 'well...nothing I can do about it so I might as well look him up.' I saw this, which I guess is encouraging:

Who Are The Most NFL-Ready Wide Receivers? -

Ahhh, ok this is encouraging. It is my own poor 'perception' he isn't good at anything first. :-)

Adding Samuel and Hurd helps the all over the field, but what we need to see is how they'll help in the RZ. I have no doubt Samuel will help, whether himself or forcing a double team on him. You would think Hurd would help with his size and good hands, we'll see?

Ok, a crowded WR room, which six make the team? They cannot cut recent draft picks, so...

1. Dante Pettis
2. Deebo Samuel
3. Jalen Hurd
4. Trent Taylor?
5. Marquise Goodwin?
6. Jordan Mathews?

I like Taylor because he gets open in short range so is good on 3rd downs. He is also a sure handed punt returner which is huge. But if they go with James over Taylor, fine. Mathews is versatile so that makes sense in a back-up.

I think.it will be a tough competition. Pettis is a lock. I still think Goodwin is safe

Hopefully that equates to Hurd being a YAC monster

Makes me wonder if they aren't going for LB Terrill Hanks here. Trade back for an extra late pick and not worry about getting their guy

They seemed to have shown a lot of interest in him
