Blake Snell leaves his start two outs into the second inning with the bases loaded. He walked three, gave up three hits. Struck out none.

Great news for Carson Ragsdale. He is 5th in the minors with 90 strikeouts. He also has faced an uphill battle after missing much of the past 2 seasons due to injury.

Also, great to see Will Bednar moved up so quickly. He had 20 strikeouts in 11.1 innings with Eugene before the promotion.

I was about to bag on Turner Hill getting promoted but his bat has heated up of late in Eugene and, well, no one is hitting in Richmond. So I guess that makes sense that he was promoted.

I have lost a lot of faith over the last few years in these prospect lists. I have really fallen into the opinion that they are little more than click bait. Once a player makes it to the bigs and doesn’t become an MVP candidate in their first game, the player seems to automatically drop 20 slots. That is reactionary fan thinking, not legit journalistic and/or scout thinking. What happened to Ramos over the last few years?

Luciano is still a HELL of a prospect. Sure, he isn’t a SS. But I still have a lot of faith in his bat. And he is super young. Placing him at 76 is reactionary and since he has been on these lists for a long time, focusing on him now does not generate clicks.

Current top 5 hitters, based on OPS, with Sacramento (minimum 100 PAs):
1. Brett Auerbach, 2b-lf-rf - .296/.382/.528 (125 PAs) - 7 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs, 14 BB, 29 K
2. Trenton Brooks, 1b - .308/.426/.462 (177 PAs) - 8 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 31 BB, 27 K
3. Jackson Reetz, c - .258/.377/.469 (155 PAs) - 15 doubles, 4 home runs, 18 BB, 34 K
4. Casey Schmitt, 3b-ss-2b - .280/.339/.502 (233 PAs) - 11 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 19 BB, 50 K
5. Hunter Bishop, cf-lf-rf - .258/.354/.424 (178 PAs) - 9 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, 20 BB, 55 K

If Logan Porter had more PAs with Sacramento he would slot in at the top spot and Jerar Encarnacion would be in the 4th spot if he had the same production in at least 100 PAs.

What's happening with that big dude they drafted last year who was supposed to be the next Ohtani, playing first base and pitching.

No one the Giants have drafted has been compared to Ohtani.

Of course they have. He supposedly was going to pitch and play the field. But I’m sure you can “confirm “ that this didn’t happen. I could name him but I won’t go into specifics with you here. I stand by my statement
