But let's face it. The Niners and Hawks are pretty much carbon copy of each other... both found success last year despite having poor passing offense, it's all about the running game for these two teams.

He stated that the Niners were 32nd in passing offense. The raw statistic he posted is total passing yards. You would have to presuppose that total passing yardage is the be all and end all of determining who has the best (or worst) passing offense.

The Niners and Seahawks both had pretty good passing offenses last year. This year the Seahawks passing offense is doing well, while the Niners have taken a step back.

Fine, if you don't want to look at total passing yards, but passing yards per game. Still 32nd.

Like I said, shouldn't be a big deal as you are a run first offense to begin with.

Either way (total passing yards or passing yards per game) you would still have to assume that the quantity of passing yards is all that you should look at when ranking passing offenses.

You're correct and do I think that the Niners are the worst offensive passing team in the NFL? Absolutely not! Far from it. For the sake of arguments, raw stats don't work in your favor right now is all.

I just looked this up and guess where Seattle and SanFran ranked in term of pass attempts? 31st and 32nd respectively. SanFran throws 24.6 times per game, while Seattle at 26.5. These teams do not throw a lot, so it's hard to rank them as bad or worst passing teams.

That's the only point I was trying to make. You can throw for over 300 yards and have a bad game. Look at Andrew Luck today or Eli Manning every week (j/k, Eli fans).

When you have a good run game and good D, you just don't have to throw much. We both also have young QB's, so we probably don't want to have them throw 40-50 times a game, though between the two of them, Wilson looks a lot more ready for that than Kaepernick right now.
