Almost every NFL analyst I've listened to has Tanny putting together a big, if not simply huge, year. The typical numbers I keep hearing is 4500+ yds, 35+ tds. If Tanny has THAT kind of a year(and there's no reason to think it won't happen), who knows how many wins we might be talking about with the defense we will field from week to week. Like I've mentioned earlier, my only real concern is our coaching staff. I know its beating a dead horse, but hopefully Joe has figured out that if/when you have the opposition down-you put your proverbial foot on their throat and keep it there. Quite opposite of running draws up the middle(in a very feeble attempt to kill the clock) and punting the ball back to Aaron freakin Rogers with 2 minutes in the game. Just sayin......I like the Fins' chances because of their DLine & the progression of THill and other key players on offense.
I don't know about a "huge year" but it should start out pretty big this weekend. It is game one though and it might be best to concentrate on getting plays right instead of running up the score against busted Skins plays....Almost every NFL analyst I've listened to has Tanny putting together a big, if not simply huge, year. That's very easy to say coming from a Patriots fan, no offense. You guys have been having fun for a very long time. New England has had the luxury of 'getting plays right' on a consistent basis for what, 10-15 yrs? There has virtually no reason at all to 'run up the score' in New England in what seems like forever because there has been almost a 'common knowledge' around the league that the Patriots are pretty much penciled into the AFC championship(if not the Superbowl) year in and year out. So, from a DOLPHINS perspective, 'running up the score against busted Skins plays' might be just what this team/fanbase needs. Miami has been pretty much irrelevant for a very, very long time. I personally cannot remember when the Dolphins were ABLE to run the score up on ANYONE, but quite honestly it most surely last happened when #13 was still under center. And finally, YES-it would be a HUGE year if Tannehill came out and put up those kind of numbers. I completely understand your point, however, that normally those numbers would not necessarily translate to 'huge' anything....especially if Brady the Almighty is and has been your QB. Miami needs to FINALLY give the fans in South Florida something to get really excited about outside of 'draft hype' or 'free agent victories', which has done absolutely nothing for this franchise. In my personal opinion, going into Washington and turning the game into a 'one-sided laugher' in our favor might do just that. All that being said, congrats on your win Thursday night. You guys are off to yet another good year and it should be really interesting how the AFC East unfolds. Good luck the rest of the way....I don't know about a "huge year" but it should start out pretty big this weekend. I dunno' just have fun.....
