How ironic would that be?
NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports the Dolphins are making a "strong, potentially persuasive push" for Bears OC Adam Gase.
Perhaps this is why Gase has yet to schedule his second interview with the Eagles. Gase is this year's most sought after coaching candidate, and his coming off the board could create a domino effect of quick hires. Rumors are swarming that current Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter would be Gase's top choice to run his offense in Miami. The two go back to Denver together where they coached under John Fox. It's also been rumored that if Lions DC Teryl Austin does not receive a head coaching offer, he is the Dolphins top choice to become their new defensive coordinator. Austin of course rose to fame on the mighty shoulders of ex Lion and current Dolphin future Hall of Famer, Ndamukong Suh.
