He was very good, but even as a Seahawk, I don't think he deserves the HOF.

Indeed, he had 5 outstanding years, including 2005 which was one of the best a NFL RB ever had, but I don't think that's enough to get you into the HOF. He fell off a cliff after that season. Some of it was injury related, but some it seemed like his heart wasn't in it anymore.
I also remember he gave Mike Holmgren grief for being so soft when it came to blocking. In that he refused to do it and it created a lot of headaches for game planning.

There were a couple of years when Alexander was one of the best if not the best running back in the league.

That said, and no offense meant, but to ask a question like this is an indication that you may not know how incredibly hard it is to get elected to the HOF. None quarterbacks that get in have typically been selected first team all pro at least 3 times at a minimum. Alexander made first team all pro once in 2004 and he wasn't even the best running back that year (tomlinson, james, barber and martin were all selected first team all pro that year too).

He had some good years and 2 great years, but no. he is not even going to get a sniff from the voters.

As was stated before there is a long list of guys ahead of him that if he were ever to get in it would be through the Senior circuit years upon years down the road. Unfortunately with running backs longevity seems to really matter these days. As a Bronco fan every year I get to see Terrell Davis passed up time and time again even though he had one of the top 5 running back seasons of all time plus 2 Superbowl Rings, plus an MVP trophy. He is hurt by the fact that he did not have as long of a career as some would want for a HOF caliber type guy. Like I said longevity plays a very important role these days when it comes to HOF voting.

He was ridiculously productive for about a 5 year span there, but I think ultimately he was a product of that monster O-Line. They made him seem great when he was really just very good. And very good doesn't get you into the HOF.

I just dont think he did it for long enough to warrant the HOF. he was more a flash in the pan to me then a great running back.

This is a dumber idea than the guy who wanted McNabb in, just for the record.

That's a funny question. And the folks in the N.West wonder why the ret of the country don't take them serious.

NO. Not enough especially when compared with contemporary's.

Yes, there are HoF running backs with fewer yards, but they were pretty darn special (Sayers).

I was referencing the author, honestly didn't bother reading the replies. Didn't see the point it was such a ignorant question. So ignorant I guess even the bulk of the folks in the N.West new it was pointless to defend.

I say yes.

Here's why...

Alexander
Seasons - 9
Attempts - 2,187
Yards - 9,453 (30th on all time list)
TDs - 100
Avg YPC - 4.3

Someone already in the HOF
Seasons - 8
Attempts - 2,187 (exact same carries)
Yards - 9,407
TDs - 74
Avg YPC - 4.3

Even compare Alexander's stats to Steven Jackson and Frank Gore, and Alexander is actually better in most categories considering their tenure. Neither of them should get into the HOF if SA doesn't.

For what it's worth I don't think anybody would put Jackson or Gore in at this point. That being said I think both are more deserving than Alexander. My memories of Alexander were of a guy who frankly was a pussy.

SA has almost as many TDs as Gore and Jackson combined.
