Lions will happily trade what ever the Patriots tell them to for Clowney. Pats play the long game and trade for Clowney a year later for like a 6th round pick or something.

I have no issues with the hit (end of video).

Best plays of Jadeveon Clowney pressuring Nick Foles | Week 16

I highly doubt the Eagles would have any issues acquiring him due to that hit either. They won't because it wouldn't make sense with the cap with the kind of contract he is going to be able to demand.

Howie could probably make it work...but the question is at what cost. My guess is that they’d have to get rid of Alshon to make it work beyond 2019. And they probably wouldn’t re-sign Agholor. So we’d be looking at a pretty weak WR corps in order to afford him.

My sense is that Philly would be wise to stand pat with the roster it has. The rumors are they would trade a lineman like Vaitai and a draft pick. But I like having o-line depth and Philly has some pretty good defensive ends. I would roll with what they have. I think it is enough to win another ring if things break right--and Wentz stays healthy.

Strangely, the rebuilding Dolphins were rumored to be big suitors, but Clowney is reportedly refusing to go there. The Ravens are the other top candidate according to the rumor mill, but teams including the Eagles have reportedly kicked the tires.

The Texans are a freaking shit show.

Did you know, 2019 will be the first time in the entire O'Brien Era, that the Texans Week 1 starting quarterback from the previous season was still on the Texans fucking roster the following season.
Butt chin inherited some of the diabolical traits from BB, just not the good ones.

What is the basis for the claim that Clowney is always hurt?

He has started at least 14 games each of the past three years.

He was hurt primarily as a rookie, one year. Since then he has been to three straight Pro Bowls.

Wrong, he played a full season in 2017.

I mean, if you want to say the guy is a head case, I see that, but he has been relatively healthy for years now.

I think Clowney ends up with New England. This paves the way for another Super Bowl for Brady and co.

The thing is, the Redskins don't need Clowney. They just used a first round pick on a pass rusher, and Clowney is a better fit for a 4-3 than a 3-4 defense.

But maybe a three-way deal in which the Texans get assets for Clowney, some of which they can deal for Williams, makes sense.

Clowney straight up for Williams makes zero sense considering Williams' age. He only has a few years left.

Williams is by no means young but he should have 3-4 years of elite LT play still in him barring injury left in him.

He is the exact same age Willie Roaf was when KC traded for him back in the day. Ask a Chief fan that was a worthwhile trade.

....

The fact that Houston is actively trying to trade Clowney tells you an awful lot about him. They have the payroll flexibility right now to hand out 3 Clowney extensions. They have zero bad long term contracts on the books, a ton of space and no one other than Watson looming as the next big deal. And on top of it the Texans don't have a backup plan for edge player moving forward (unless they think Mercilless is going to refind his form before the injury).

Really makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes when a team in perfect position to offer a a huge deal to a 25 year old who should be entering his prime doesn't want to do it.

It's more and more looking like a Jacksonville rebound.

You make some good points but U can tell you the Texans have let go of many good players over the years. Philly alone got Demeco Ryans, Brandon Brooks and Connor Barwin from them among others.

I don't really feel the Clowney love, and as Ducky has mentioned, it's disconcerting to see the Texans shopping him with their EDGEs being what they are. Who's giving up their LT? Washington's D is fine. Raiders? Seriously? Who wants to give their guy up? How would it be fair value for Clowney? It all smells.
