In exchange for cash and player to be named later.

Interesting, not sure they needed another left-handed platoon-type OF'er. Along with Joc and Bellinger who they can play out there, they also have Ethier. Who they say will be back in September when they expand the roster.

I know what we need, the worst leadoff hitter in baseball!

Wtf!?!

Hit him 7th Dave, for the love of God.

I guess you sit Puig now vs RHP? Or Granderson just mostly comes off of the bench? Not sure how this shakes out.

Joc hasn't hit a homer in forever. And has 7 RBI in the last month.

Maybe he sits too?

Idk. Grandy isn't much of a player anymore. This is weird.

Ethier's played 16 games over the last two seasons. I wouldn't count on him for any meaningful production.

Grandy has a .334 OBP and is slugging .481 (pretty much in line with his career averages). He still has a pretty decent bat.

and FWIW, Grandy's hitting .263/.383/.570 since the end of April. He had a .395 OPS in April. That bad of a month will fuck your stats up.

This is definitely important to point out. He was horrendous in April, and has really gone back to being solid since then.

Yeah, I hear you. Likely a guy they'll bring off the bench, to hit in the pitcher's spot during the playoffs. All I meant was, that barring something going wrong in his rehab assignments (going on his 4th game now) he's going to be there and in the equation.

Just checked his log, and wow... yeah.

He homered on the 26th of July vs Minnesota, and then had 2 hits in his next start on the 28th, in San Fran.

Since then, he's 2 for 41 with 0 HR's. I didn't know it was that bad. This could definitely be them giving up on Joc, at least for the rest of this season.

Well fuck me...

Lol

Really had no idea he still hits a few doubles. I really did enjoy watching him
Play when he was young. So robotic and trained. I've really never seen anything like it from an athlete. Or a nerdbomber. And Curtis is both.

Really thought his loss of speed had more of a negative impact than it really does. I often don't look before Inthimb.

I almost committed to play where he did in college, at University of Illinois-Chicago. Dude's a legend there, and paid out of his own pocket for their new ball park and practice facilities. They talked about him a lot during their "pitch" to recruits, and it's really interesting that he was never even considered as a guy who may have a legitimate pro career. Much less become a star for a good period of time, and hit 300+ HR's. He himself, never thought he'd make it to the big leagues.

Wasn't he a second rounder? Easy to see he's an unassuming humble guy.

He was very, very popular in Detroit while he was there. For good reason.

What spots d'you play?
(I preceded the mighty Adam Rosalesin college... and quickly got cut. Lol. )

Dodgers optioned OF Joc Pederson to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

With Friday's addition of Curtis Granderson, the struggling Pederson was squeezed out of his role as the club's primary center fielder against right-handed pitching. The 25-year-old was hitting just .116/.218/.261 with two homers, seven RBI and a 14/6 K/BB ratio over 78 plate appearances in his last 26 games dating back to July 16.:suds:

Kind of hard to wait for a guy to put it together when guys like Seager and Bellinger come up and take the league by storm. Joc's average defense and Chris Taylor's ability to play Center doesn't help Joc's case.
