I wasn't very impressed with Doc either. I never really thought he was a good coach but I was hoping he would be better than Vinny.

People have to realize that it was Doc's first year as a GM too, so he's trying to make an imprint on the roster - and there were a lot of distractions as well and he handled it very well

In year two, with the distractions out the window and now being able to focus on just basketball, things should be better

My opinion too. Lets see how this year goes. He has positive mojo now and a owner with cash. I suspect they will try to market Clippers as a franchise on the way up, and FA destination location

Doc gets guys to buy into his program.

In one Season, he turned DeAndre Jordan into the League's leading rebounder and increased his stats across the board.

He's helped turn Blake's game from a sideshow to one of actual substance.

And most importantly, Chris Paul wanted him and signed with the Clippers longterm when he got him.

Just like in Free Agency for players, certain teams have to overpay to land the guy they want.

Even with the last 2 years of quasi-success, the Clippers are still one of those teams.

So, go Doc!

He's also President of Basketball Operations, not GM. $10mil per would be crazy if he was just the coach.

But, there is little chance they make the WCF, let alone win it all this year.

With that being said, Chris Paul is on the clock.
