I think I'm going to buy this and I'm going to dabble with reverse searing steaks with my cast iron skillet. Do you guys have any experience with them and have any recommendations?

i have one, but i dont use it for steaks.......some chicken, thicker cuts of meat.......or crappy burgers

I cannot wait to use it for beer can chicken, steak, and roasts. I tend to do my burgers done so a thermometer isn't necessary.

Never used one myself, could be a good thing though...Chefs like myself usually use probe thermometers. Why? they're easy to use and most of all they're VERY easy to calibrate...A pot of boiling water and a glass of ice water is all you need to calibrate a probe thermo, not sure about other types...
