To be fair it was coach kaz first year as line coach. Also papshis is learning...... Not exactly a great position to be in for us Nebraska fans who want everything now or yesterday. Still no excuse for not landing better talent especially when it comes to recruiting jucos at dline

I'm watching Wisconsin/Nebraska One from last season on BTN and Nebraska got a false start in the Victory formation with 30 seconds remaining in the game. :L

You just can't make this shit up.

Yeah. We're still trying to figure things out going into year 6.

Fact of the matter is, we have not had the pieces of the puzzle to work with over the past 2 years.....

Pelini has done exceptional Defensively everywhere he has ever been.

Nebraska in 2003, LSU, Nebraska in 2009 and 2010........

But Pelini had great talent to work with during those periods of time..........and over the past couple of years, he simply has not. Plain and simple, our Front 7 last season was a cobbled together piece of garbage.

Is it really Pelini or was it having Dorsey (LSU) and Suh (NU)? Those DT's were beyond exceptional.

I'm beginning to wonder if Pelini isn't the benefactor of just having 2 great DT's disrupting the line of scrimmage.

In 2003 his defense gave up 41 to Missouri and 38 to Kansas St. (both losses)

Idk.......

We had a decent Defense in 2010 as well.

And there were a lot of exceptional players on that 2009 Defense.

Ok going into year 6 and still figuring it out so what? It to Tom 20+ years to win national championships. It took Bowden how many years(I don't know) you are always going to be learning and figuring it out... I mean I want it yesterday just as bad as everyone else but everything moves so fast nowadays. If Bo was the head coach at a talent rich region like Texas or Alabama he would probably have the same success as saben has had. My only argument against my theory is Schneider at kstate I honestly couldn't tell you what he puts in the water down there.

We have all the pieces we just need to put it together when we go undefeated into Ann arbor and win the confidence level of this team headed into the rest of the season will be threw the roof. That combined with the talent we have is going to be hard to stop. Hope we can stay grounded

Snyder does with K. State what Devaney and Osborne did with Nebraska. They play disciplined football across the board. They limit turnovers, they're highly ranked in turnover margin, have great special teams, and the players play hard. Just like the local Nebraska kids and walk ons used to do. Sprinkle in a few skill players and it spells success across the Plains.

Pelini teams play like Neuheisal teams.

I haven't seen that type of team from HWSNBN or Pelini.

I have seen a boy named Suh.

I'm from the McBride school of thought.

Stop the run first, make them one dimensional, then bring the heat to get sacks and create turnovers.

This bend but don't break shit drives me up a wall.

You just broke the code for all opposing teams to stop our offense, dagumit!

If you're playing 2 quarterbacks, it means you have zero quarterbacks.

I am not in favor of subbing in anyone until the game is fully out of reach for the opponent.

Taylor is far and away the best QB we have. He's the best dual threat in the country right now.

Not necessarily

If you have a schedule and talent around for it, it can be done. I thought we could have done it with turner before we dubbed him wr for life. 06 fla team did fine, 'zona back in 98-99 did it. And we all know Steve spurrier is a qb pimp and can never just have one lol.

10 plays wouldn't hurt because we have been blessed that tmart had been healthy since that first year he started. I think it is in our best interest to try it.

Here's the thing though........

Teams who actually have question marks at the QB position are the teams that go with 2 QBs.........

No team in the history of the world has ever questioned a 5 year Senior and 4 year starter who holds every record known to man at that program........especially a program like Nebraska where some really great athletes went through and set some pretty high marks.

Why not just put the kid in for several drives in the 2nd half when the game is out of hand? I don't understand taking a risk when no risk needs to be taken. It sounds like something a kid would do playing NCAA 2014 on a PS3 or something.

I mean, the whole conversation is silly anyways......

No coach would ever consider making such a move, let alone Bo Pelini.

New age of offense/different era of offense

I agree with your point but back then 400 yard of offense would send a DC packing.

In the big12 400 yard of offense might not get the win.

The best plan now is make whatever opponent you face use their weakness to beat you.

For example msu is regarded a top defense in big ten and we blew up their season stats with our offense and barely won. Offense are far more exotic and complex then the 90 or 80s.

That is because we turned the ball over 4 times in that game.

I heard SS talking about it, but it's really not a good idea. I saw Michigan do it last year and it's not the best idea. Stick with 1 QB.
