Do you pick players from your rival NFL team in fantasy football?

So I've been doing a lot of Mock Drafts this year, I had the worst record ever last year, i got stuck with Rivers, McFadden and Matthews...Since its looks like a RB/RB type of draft this year...I'm tempted to take an elite WR in the 2nd round. Dez Bryant keeps falling to me in the 2nd....
...I don't want to have to root for a loser WR but whadduyado? lol

In general, I will give slight favor to Redskins in my FF league. I mean, I'm not gonna reach two rounds ahead, but in the mid rounds if I can get a Skin around where he should be, it makes my FF season more fun.

It depends on your league though. In my regular league, I'm the only Skins fan. I've been playing in it for 5 years or so. Prior to that my regular league was almost all Skins fans, so I never picked any Skins because they were always valued.

But I don't care if a guy is a Cowboy or a Bengal beyond that.

If you want to win, you put aside allegiances and take the best players. If you have more fun picking players you want to root for though, do it.

lol I won a FF title a few years back when I took Aaron Rogers 1st...Everyone was clowning me for it, until he had a career year. I'm no Packers fan but of course I started watching them during that year, and so on.
I agree you take Best Player in most cases....but it will be odd if that best player is Dez...in fact he's the only guy I imagine taking...Murray is in the all-glass league with McFadden and Matthews.

All the time. I drafted RG3 in some leagues last year. I used to always draft Santana Moss. I have drafted Witten, Austin, Romo, Felix in leagues before, and have Cruz in a few leagues.

generally try and avoid players from direct rivals. But some times it cant be avoided. Just hate that feeling on Monday night when you need Dallas, NY or Philly to lose, yet need one of their player to do well in order for you to win the week.

Yeah I hate that too, last year in my FFL that I was in I had Victor Cruz as one of my receivers

Got to draft best player no matter who they play for. If your league isn't for big cash then it shouldn't matter anyway. Anyone that would take a FF win over a redskin win is warped anyway.

Agree. But I find it easier to avoid the whole conflict of interest all together. But I will admit I drafted Dez in the 2nd last year simply to trade him to the Cowboys homer who picked right after me. And I got Peyton Manning, and a #3 WR in the deal. Since I am usually in money leagues, I dont want to deal with hoping a division rival does well to keep me in the standings is all.

Nothing sucks worse when you have them on your team and they don't produce when you need them to.

I've never really had to deal with it...but I'm probably gonna have some cowboys on my roster this year...also so true haha...I had Giants fans giving me all sorts of crazy deals for Cruz...i was too stupid to do it, since it was before the season started...learned my lesson...always take the 2 for 1/3 for 1

As a Steeler fan I couldn't pick any Ravens players!!! I did pick Andy Dalton and AJ Green. But when we played the Bengals I had to bench the both of them.... I had Pittsburgh's D and I couldn't hope they put up good numbers on us. Turns out the one game against us they scored pretty good... that really pissed me off!!!!
