Just ran across this piece on NFL.com that lists what strike me as six pretty wild predictions: Midseason report: Bold second-half predictions - NFL.com

Three of the predictions are that both Seattle and Dallas fail to make the playoffs, while the Giants do make the playoffs. A fourth prediction is that Cleveland makes the playoffs, due to Manziel replacing Hoyer. :omg: A fifth prediction is that Mark Ingram rushes for more yards than any other RB the rest of the season. And the final prediction is that the Steelers win the SB.

Since none of these predictions strike me as particularly likely and some of them seem almost impossible, I was wondering how Vegas would handicap each of them. Which do you think the bookmakers would consider most likely and which least likely?

Personally, I think that Hoyer getting benched and then Manziel leading the Browns to the playoffs is least likely, and Ingram rushing for the most yards of any RB over the remainder the season is most likely.

If hoyer gets benched it means they are losing so can't see that one happening. The Dallas one has me intrigued just because the injuries are starting to show up. Going to find out how much resolve this team actually has real soon.

They (Seahawks) have zero wiggle room in catching and passing the Cardinals and 49ers.

They're tied with the niners, they've already caught them.

I think the idea of the article was they were supposed to be really "bold" predictions. So they are basically giving some of the more far fetched scenarios.

I suppose so. And by offering up six different bold predictions, perhaps at least one of them will turn out right.

Seattle won't make the playoffs.

Definitely possible. If they don't win the next two at home I think this is a likely scenario.

Johnny Manziel leads Browns to playoffs.

I will shave off all my pubes, sprinkle them on a plate of dog shit and eat it if that happens.

Dallas won't make the playoffs

I think they lose to Arizona this week. And if Romo's injury ends up being serious they are in trouble. This could happen as well.

Pittsburgh Wins the Super Bowl

They'd likely have to beat Denver in Denver for this to happen so I would not bet on it.

Mark Ingram Leads NFL in Rushing the Rest of the Way

Definitely possible, like OP said probably the most likely of any of them.

The Giants Make the Playoffs.

No.

I can see Seattle & Dallas missing the playoffs.

I can see Cleveland making the playoffs but not because of JF

I think the Ingram part is most likely if any are true.

The browns one cant be done. If they make the playoffs it is with Hoyer. As cdlumer7 has said. Only way Hoyer loses the job is if they are losing. if they are losing they cant make the playoffs. the whole concept of this prediction is pretty impossible.

All other Playoff predictions I would just leave at anythings possible.
Steelers winning the Superbowl. I would give close to zero percent chance.

of course you can. you dream of this.
Please come back later and tell me you are WRONG (if you are truly wrong).

For some reason you are the biggest Seahawk Hater, which you will call realistic critic. But U R A Hater.

It has nothing to do with hating. Look at Seattle schedule after the next 2 weeks and get back to me. Their schedule is extremely difficult. Same goes for dallas

Stop getting your panties in a bunch....even Seahawks fans said they can see this happening if they don't start playing better.

You guys still have 4 games vs san fran & Arizona and also road games in kansas city & Philly. That is 6 hard games where they can easily go 3-3 in which means they'll end up 10-6 if that happens

Too bad the Hawks are not in the NFC South, 10-6 would easily take that division, while in the NFC West, that record is probably 3rd and missing the playoffs altogether.

Life.

Teams were saying the same thing in 2010 when 8-8 would have gotten them a home playoffs game if they played in the west

BTW blaming the division you're in for a team possibly missing the playoffs is such a lame excuse. The NFL does have 2 WC positions for exactly this reason

It would be a funny conicidence if that happens though.

Because back in 2010 when Seattle got in the playoffs with their 7-9 record, The South had 3 teams with 10+ wins and the Bucs missed the playoffs with a 10-6 record.
