so the BOG is talking 50plus game schedule as per Pierre Lebrun

and my inlaws family friends just bought a place outside Phoenix

Im thinking my boycott of paying for NHL game tickets does not extend to paying $5 to see the canucks play the coyotes in glendale

if i can pay for the ticket using bottle refund money (my kids drink alot of juice boxes) ... BOYCOTT STILL INTACT!

Go Bettman
Once again battling the evil PA and giving the fans their right to hockey.
Boy that guy really knows how to put the pressure on and then back away at just the right time. Next we will hear it is a 10 year deal because Gary doesnt want to put the fans through this any time soon. GB to replace Santa as best loved figure at Christmas

I don't like this... I thought I didn't care, but I am getting all giddy. Please don't let me down...

Exactly my sentiments. NHL teams calling their players in foreign countries is a nice sign of relief though.

if a deal gets done by the weekend, big if, training camps could open next wednesday and 56-game season would begin on Dec. 20.

SO its exciting. NHL and NHLPA have made headway and the NHLPA looks to be giving a proposal later today. there is excitement over a 56 game schedule starting Dec 20. why do I get the sense that when the NHLPA offers their proposal they will put something in there that will really tick off the NHL and derail this. oh I am an optimist at heart... but just not with really greedy people

just to get you ready for tonight

Bettman ~10 minutes after proposal: "Their proposal was completely unacceptable. We've worked tirelessly to compensate their needs and desires and they refuse to budge on any points. I see no reason for us to spend more time in a meeting when their proposal is so far away from what we can agree to. No new meetings have been scheduled, and games through December have been cancelled."

I bet they push for 62 games
The money is better for both sides. That is why they pushed for a deal now
