Should we keep our trust in him or should we go to the free agency pool (that does not look good) or back to the drawing board in the draft pool? I’m leaning the latter

Just a few weeks ago it was hard for me to see the Bears not bringing in a FA to compete with Mitch.

Now? Yeah, I think he's pretty much bought himself another year. Barring the final three games being reminiscent of his GB, PHI or LAR performances. It would have to be very bad, IMO.

Is that a good thing? I don't know. I still think this ends with us in search of a QB when his contract is up. But my door has ever so slightly peaked back open. Slightly... as in... I'm horrified to stick my head out. Much less take a step back into that world. I'm just considering it from a very safe space.

Yes it is a very hard position to be a Bears qb. But I do believe he has bought himself another year. What he will do with that year will define his career I believe.

With the Oline issues, I'm not sure anyone can look great. Want a good breakdown watch:

What Rich said..........

Dont look into the games where we beat less than dominate teams, but look into what hes done vs good to great teams this year.......And lets see what he has these last 3 games this year......Its night and day.

Right now hes fools gold and fans are buying into it.

I say we draft a qb with the 2nd pick and give MT a short leash starting next season..........

We have no choice but to believe since he’s going to be under center opening day next year.

Mitch can play fine, but he's not elite. That means he needs to be coached to his strengths.

Whether it was his shoulder or hip or just bad-coaching, he has not been helped until the second half of the season.

Is he a world-beater? No, not yet. Is he plenty good enough to win it all with this D? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Nagy napped through the first half of the season. He has woken up, and done a much better job of coaching in the second half, and the Bears as a team is finally coming around.

Nagy is still dogshit in the running game though. Watch the above video. His run-blocking scheme is convoluted, and despite zero success within it, he continues to pound the square peg into the round hole.

It would be insane to blow this team up. They have a great young core, that is capable of beating ANY team, if they just played to their strengths, and eliminated some of the wannabe-fancy schemes.

They had a rough year, but this talk of blowing it all up is ridiculous.

I'm all for drafting a QB. Done with reaching though. See what drops, but more importantly, Bears need O line picks asap. TE could use a pick, DB, perhaps a safety if we can't keep HaHa.

Our o-line has been a nightmare....
Tes a nightmare......
Nagy a nightmare.....
Trubisky a nightmare......

This all needs fixed.......Who they replace I dont know.....All I know is A-Rob is the only guy on offense that I trust.....

And our defense can not carry our offense.........Our offense still has to be able to score and be able to run the ball to keep the other team off that field.....
Our last SB we had a decent run game in Cedric Benson and Thomas Jones to go along with Muhsin ans Berrian......Not too mention what Hester done for the history books....
Even the 2000 Ravens team with Dilfer at qb had a rb in Jamal Lewis that rushed for close 1400 yds and a HOF te in Shannon Sharpe......
Our offense has none of that......
We need better play from our off for us to get there.......

And if, MT can show his worhiness these next couple of games,I may think differently....Till then......eh

They'll be fine, IMO. They're a young team, with a young coach. They'll learn from it and get better.

They'll re-tool a bit, but the core(Mitch, Montgomery, Robinson, Whitehair, Miller... will be there next year. You can bank on it.

That makes no sense.

That's like saying that I trust my wife who I just caught banging the neighbor because we're both going to wake up still married tomorrow. lol

Both oline and a young QB must be drafted.

Lets not count our chickens just yet. Trubisky can still play like shit the rest of the year and then we'd be back to 2 weeks ago.

I trust in Mitch. I would still like a better backup.

Belief is relative. I mean, do I think there's a chance Mitch becomes great? No. But he can become decent for a season or two...That's possible. So yeah, I'll choose to believe that he can...because if I don't...well...I've cashed in next season already. Nothing left to do but trust the man. He's what we've got.

Depends on the last 3 games and how he does against some quality defenses. The Packers D sucks against the run but is alright against the pass, the Chiefs D is playing well and we all know the Minnesota D is good. If he plays well the last 3 games, he absolutely gets another year. If not, then we need to bring in a vet that can play cause the defense will still be really good unless we suffer another rash of injuries there.

I agree totally. These next 3 weeks or going to tell the tale. I like Ryan Tannehill, bring him in and let him and Mitch fight for it. But yes either way the way he performs these next 3 games will lay the pavement for next year.

I definitely agree. Halfway fans are wanting him flat on out, but it’s not that simple. He really has not done the worst job.

Tannehill is earning himself a nice big deal for the Titans right now. They look they might be the 3rd best team in the AFC behind the Ravens and Patriots.
