That roughing the passer call was just WRONG against Atlanta.... I hate seeing refs hand free 1st down to teams when there stopped.... Dallas got bailed out on that one...

Atl has always been terrible defensively which is why they will never compete for the SB until that improves dramatically. OP where you at?

They stepped up today... of course vs Weeden and no Dez ...

I expect the Cowboys to play a very physical and inspired game today at home. But in the end, better talent on the Atlanta side of the ball will carry the day.

Kind of went the way I thought it would, and that Cowboy defense? Wow, I think they have a few holes. Better talent at the skill positions usually means a W in NFL games.

That's 0-1 and counting until Romo gets back...

Thankfully we are in a weak division.

Although... it's not like the Giants got their butt whooped in their first 2 games, and Philly imploded a bit versus the Falcons too. I suspect those two are a little better than their records suggest.

The Cowboys should win next weekend against New Orleans but then they face New England and Seattle. I see 3-3 coming.

They better, because the only game that looks more winnable than that while Romo is out is a game against Tampa Bay. If Dallas is worse than 4-5 when Romo comes back, they'll need to hope the other teams in the NFCE have continued to stumble and a 9-7 record could be good enough to win the division.

As of today, I would agree with you 100%. But who's to say what the NFCE division looks like 3 or 4 weeks from now. Nobody saw the Cowboys in this situation two weeks ago.

One things for sure though, in 3 or 4 weeks the Cowboys will still be without Romo, Dez and that guy who plays in Philly. Better talent usually means W's in the NFL.

Weeden + Williams = trouble in Big D until Romo makes it back.

That guy who plays in Philly is injured again.

The Steelers just lost Big Ben. You think they win the AFCN if he's is lost for a significant amount of time? How about if they lost Antonio Brown as well? Most Cowboy fans be like..."hell no, Pitt is done".

Truth is Steeler fans are rational, most Cowboy fans are not.

if they had been able to somehow work out a trade for Colt McCoy, I'd say yes.

With Branden "put touch on a ball? What's touch?" Weeden or Matt "But people keep paying me!" Cassell at the helm, the answer to the OP's question is NO.

He's a gamer for sure, and if he had the arm strength of Weeden would be a #1 QB. But he doesn't, which unfortunately is why he will always be an NFL backup at best.

And BTW, I hate the injury happened to Romo or Dez. I want to see the best players play, and the team that plays the best win.

he does not have the arm strength, but he can work it down the field helluva lot better than the guy who has the golden arm (Weeden).

People love falling in love with the big arms-I do it myself-but there are a lot of canon-armed guys who suck at playing winning quarterback.

Anyway, we'll see if Cassell can do any better than Weeden. Doubt he will, but they have to try him. Weeden cant do it.
