In the bottom of the third inning, with the LumberKings trailing 3-2, third baseman D.J. Peterson was hit in the jaw by a 0-1 fastball delivered by Wisconsin starter Jorge Lopez. Peterson went to a crouch next to home plate and was immediately tended to by LumberKings Athletic Trainer Katsu Ichihara. Peterson was transported to a local area hospital for further treatment.

Reports are that he wont play again this season....only 11 games so not that big a deal. I guess it might have glanced off his shoulder before hitting his cheek but I hope there aren't any concussion issues.

I still think he start in AA Jackson next year. He showed enough in Clinton to jump over High Desert.

We seem to be having some pretty hard luck with our 1st round picks. Hultzen has been hurt all year, Zunino and now Peterson. Yikes hopefully they are all healthy next season.
