Meh, I'm not criticizing that play much really. They really had no chance after the 2 bonehead plays by Schulz so they were just hoping for some Miami Miracle type of thing. I just thought it was hilarious to watch.
Yes. Pancaking Zeke was a great move. And you can see as it developed, it was thought of in the moment, as there was a delay between when the ball was snapped to when he was flattened.

Having Zeke as the snapper is a legit oversight that deserves some criticism, imho.

Im not really sure I blame Schulz much for the first play. I think he just ran the route as it was. The 2nd play was really terrible, though. You went from a realistic hail mary scenario to that joke play that had no chance.

My problem with the first one is that he didn't lower his shoulder and force the defender to get him out of bounds and get the clock stopped. Schulz played that very weak, imo.

Here is the formation on the Kittle bobble catch. Is he covered and thus an illegal receiver? What say you? Or if 44 is off the line (and even with the LT by the way) it's still illegal formation. Alas, not like Dallas was likely to pull out a win anyone but just saw this online and hadn't heard it mentioned.

You can’t make this call looking at a picture. You need to know what was being communicated between the linesman when they line up. Tackles are often given some leeway with their depth as well. These things aren’t regularly called penalties all year long. Crying after the fact is on brand for Cowboy Nation trying to yet again deal with failure and disappointment.

I dont think @jarntt is pointing this out, because it would change the game or anything. We recently were called for a BS call of illegal formation.
This merely points out how horribly inconsistent the refs has been all year. To me this isnt about this one game. Just pointing out some obvious misses.

This one is actually pretty poetic if you know the context. It’s a microcosm of Cowboys football. They come back every year convinced that this one is the year. This is the year they finally shake off the futility. And yet we all know how this ends. I told @PDay8810 after Week 1 “season is over”. He spent weeks bumping threads celebrating October and November when we all knew that yesterday was coming. The only intrigue was the opponent and what round it would happen in.

I’m calling it right now. The 2023-24 Dallas Cowboys will be dead on arrival. That season like the last 27 will end in misery.
