Gibbs destroyed his own legacy by going back to work for The Danny.

Destroyed is a little dramatic imo. He still led the Skins to 4 SB appearances and 3 SB titles and is the only HC to accomplish that using different QBs.

You have 2 Redskins players in DG and Baugh and no Cowboy player or Giant players. Or both Baugh and DG in the wrong division. Neither played for any other team except the Skins.

Maybe "Destroyed" is close. I was willing to overlook his involvement in the non-sport of NASCAR, because he enjoyed it and to be honest, was good at it. But his legacy was severely hurt by coming back and working for that ownership. How's that?

Ahhhh, sorry. I misunderstood the rules. I was going all-time, any division. Sub Michael Strahan in for Baugh and Emmitt Smith in for Sanders then for a NFC East.

For NFC North, I'll go:

Barry Sanders
Dick Butkus
Randy Moss
Reggie White

You can blame Snyder for a WHOLE LOTTA SHIT far as what ails the Skins. You can't blame him for much of anything that went down though when JG came back. Not verbatim, but JG said during an interview after he came back that. During his first tenure Bobby Beathard was in charge of what players were brought into Redskins Park and he (Gibbs) was in charge of what players would remain at Redskins Park and what players would be shown the door. He wanted the opportunity to pick the players as well and Snyder gave Gibbs carte blanche to do as he wanted.

Or put another way. The only person responsible for damaging his legacy was Joe Gibbs himself. That in no way falls on Daniel Snyder. 99.9999% of all the other bullshit afflicting the Skins we can rightfully give to Snyder.

Oh, if you want to blame Gibbs himself for soiling his legacy, fine. But the Vince Lombardi, Don Shula and Chuck Noll couldn’t succeed in Washington under that owner.

I’ve heard plenty of apologists for Danny over the years. The guy is a cancer. A bad fantasy football player masquerading as an owner. It’s probably about time for someone to do a follow-up on one of the greatest exposés in history:

The Cranky Redskins Fan's Guide to Dan Snyder

EDIT: oh wait, there was one?!
Happy 20th Anniversary, Dan Snyder. Washington Fans Are Not Cheering.

No apologist here, homey. Just a Redskins fan. Snyder's a terrible owner, arguably the worst owner of all the 4 major team sports organizations of North America. And Joe G actually had shit poppin in year 2 of his 2nd tenure. The Skins won 10 games, made the playoffs and won a playoff game that year. Instead of staying the course though and getting a tune up (acquiring a pass rusher, a solid #2 WR, a RB to team with and spell Clinton Portis, a QB to gloom) Gibbs went out and bought a new car hiring Al Saunders to run the offense in 2006. Oddly enough Gibbs never let Saunders do that till Jason Campbell was injured late in 2007. Gibbs also made Clinton Portis play in the preseason of 2006 which was odd considering how Gibbs let Riggo be Riggo back in the day. First series of the 1st preseason game Portis tweaked his knee running down a Coincy DB after after interception..........but all old news.
And yeah, Snyder is an uber-shitty owner to t
he 3rd power, squared.

49ers - Joe Montana - arguably greatest qb, cool under pressure
Cardinals - Larry Fitzgerald - One of the best to play the game
Seahawks - Walter Jones - Montana 's protection
Rams - Aaron Donald - Arguably the best DT of all time

Walter was the best LT I've ever watched, and that's not homerism, he was lock down ... that's a good choice...
