Yeah Steichen has done a solid job, he’s at exactly 500 after 2 seasons with the Colts despite subpar QB play. But I think what Ryans has done in Houston is impressive, they were one of the worst teams in the seasons before he got there, and he’s won the division both of his first 2 seasons - part of that is due to getting a good QB in Stroud and drafting well but he’s turned things around quickly.

There aren't a lot of stadiums I want to go to even if my team isn't playing, but Lambeau is definitely one...and I want it to be cold when I go!!!

I’m a Falcons fan so let’s look at the NFC South

1 - Best Team - Bucs have dominated lately, I think the Falcons have a slightly stronger roster this year, so it’s a tie between those two.

2 - Best Coach - Has to be Todd Bowles, Bucs have won the division each of his first 3 seasons, the others are unproven.

3 - Best Offensive Player - I’ll say Mike Evans, he’s had a 1000 yard season all 11 seasons in the league, but Drake London or Bijan Robinson might take over that title soon as Evans is aging.

4 - Best Defensive Player - Interesting question, no one immediately jumps out, I’ll say Jessie Bates.

5 - Best Uniform - Falcons (this is a subjective question so I’ll go with my favorite team)

6 - Best Stadium - Falcons (not just because I’m a homer, I think the Benz is the nicest of the 4 stadiums from what I’ve seen)

7 - Best Fans - Falcons (have to go with my own fanbase here, Saints certainly have a good die hard fan base but I fucking hate the Saints)

Agreed. A 13-31 record in non-divisional games will do that. At .295 2024 was 1 of the worst division records in modern NFL history.

LOL I’m not trying to be a huge homer other than on the questions about the uniforms/stadium/fanbase, which are all subjective and I feel like I have to go with my team - I said I think the Saints have the most devoted following of the 4 NFC South teams so objectively they win best fans but I refuse to say something nice about them. I do think the Benz is the best stadium in the division. Uniforms are very subjective, I think the Panthers have nice uniforms as well but I’ll go with my Falcons for the nicest.

Bowles is clearly the best coach in the South.
The questions about the players are hard as there are not many superstars in the division and the Panthers and Saints have been subpar on O lately. I think Evans is the best offensive player in the division right now, he’s been an excellent receiver for a long time but he’s aging. Defense is even harder, no elite pass rushers/sackers in the division, I don’t think it’s a homer move to argue for Jessie Bates - you could make a case for Antoine Winfield or Lavonte David or Demario Davis, it could go to several guys but Bates is an excellent safety.

I’m not saying I’m not biased towards my Falcons but other than on the subjective issues of fanbase/stadium/uniforms I’m not trying to be some extreme homer.

Minshew actually played okay in 2023 for the Colts, started 13 of their games and threw for 3305 yards and a 15-9 ratio, that’s okay. Still a good job by Steichen getting them to 9-8 that year but Minshew wasn’t awful. Last year’s QB play for the Colts was pretty dismal and getting to 8 wins was a solid accomplishment. The Colts would be pretty good if they had a solid QB, but they really screwed up drafting Richardson at 4, he’s just not a good QB

There aren't a lot of stadiums I want to go to even if my team isn't playing, but Lambeau is definitely one...and I want it to be cold when I go!!!

If you go... go early 3-4 hours before game and tailgate with spread of food... you will make a lot of friends and others will invite you to partake of their eats. If you are hospitable and take in the fun... you will have a great time. Even if Cowboys are the visiting team you could make a life long friendship if you are friendly.

Definitely not the Texans. Texans fans would prefer the Texans to miss the playoffs than to ever root for the Cowboys.

If the Colts were playing the Cowboys and the Texans needed the Cowboys to win to make the playoffs, many Texans fans would be rooting for the Colts because "I don't care. I hate the Cowboys."

Otherwise, I'll have to say the Browns, for those who have been stuck with what they've dealt with since their resurrection over the past 30 years or so. The "Factory of Sadness" video was one of the best things I've ever seen too. If I remember right, the guy in it was wearing the Browns' long snapper's jersey, which made it even more funny.

I can generally agree with this.

Although I dunno about Seattle best fans at this point... the 12th man is not what it was during the early Carroll years. I think Seattle is starting to get more restrictive about secondary market resale of tickets, but there have been home games over the last couple years where the away team has more color in the stands than Seattle... and the false start counter is gone now. I know they raise the 12th man flag but it means nothing anymore.

Course it might just be by default. Cali (LA/San Fag) and Zona isn't any better lol.


Only other I might disagree with:

Best offensive player: I think CMAC is cooked. Yes he's great when healthy but he's now almost 30. I'd prob. still take Kittle because it's so hard to replace and I think JSN or Williams may just take that spot in 2025.

I might give the 9ers unis a nod also over the Rams but I have always liked the royal blue/gold. But the classic Niners red/gold is good too. Seattle MIGHT be able to get in the discussion if they ditched that dumbass lime green. Their retro jerseys are amazing.

For a good portion of my live the aggies won 5 for or less games but were always there in droves acting the part....smiles on their faces cause they got to kiss twice in 55-14 lose.
