here are all the games

Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech -9
Austin Peay at Virginia Tech -47
Virginia Tech -6 at Pittsburgh
Bowling Green at Virginia Tech -27
Virginia Tech -4.5 at Cincinnati
Virginia Tech -4 at North Carolina
Duke at Virginia Tech -24
Virginia Tech at Clemson -2.5
Virginia Tech -4 at Miami (FL)
Florida State -1 at Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech -10 at Boston College
Virginia at Virginia Tech -14

VT is a ball control team that plays great D. Score too fast, and you hurt the D.

Last year we were 3-8 against the spread, which is typical for VT.

My question is, what games above do you think that VT will not cover? There will be more than one, if history is indeed a predictor of the future.

I think we win the following games and don't cover:

Austin Peay +47
Duke +24
at B.C. +10
Virginia +14

The Bowling Green game I wouldn't bet. The spread looks doable both ways.

Take the point vs FS, because we win outright.

It's going to be pathetic if we can't beat GT by more than 10. With at least a couple weeks more of practice time devoted to the triple option and the monster D-line we ought to take care of them easily. If not it's probably a sign of bad things to come

Whoever thinks we are going to blow somebody out by almost 50 doesn't watch much VT football. Conservative offenses with average O-lines don't blow anybody out unless there is a lot of luck involved

You are right about VT not blowing teams out. Its not our style. We will continue ball control runs, eating up the clock, and playing third stringers before running it up like many schools do.

I think our O line last year was good, at least as good as any team in the last ten years.

Wilson and Thomas both had huge yardage years, and that doesn't happen without better than average O line protection. I attribute the keystone cop backfield routine on immaturity by Thomas in making the read. It looked damned ridiculous at times. It takes experience, and he was learning on the job. This year should be much better.

When a back runs for 1700, and a QB tosses for what, 3000?, lots of credit has to go to the O line. I said the same thing last year, and no one agreed. Just my opinion.

They were above average with pass blocking but average with run blocking. I can't remember such a disparity with the inside running vs outside running on a VT team

It's an unpopular opinion held by most Tech fans, but that kind of production tells me the offensive line performed pretty well last year.

Tech was also ranked #22 in the country by the NCAA in sacks allowed....big improvement over 2010 when we were ranked #86.

Additionally, Coach Beams is old school with his belief in good sportsmanship. He doesn't believe in running up the score unless he's trying to make a point with an opposing coach.

I'd give you all the points spreads but that little dick Biff has my copy of Gray's Sports Almanac. Anybody got a DeLorean I can borrow?

Just fine poop... jump in now and then and give me a shout... Looks like you and I both dropped the rep ball..when we took some time away from the board... Ha... and to think we once were right behind the man (TOX)... now he is hit and miss so I think Las is the big rep dog...

Not that rep points have anything to do with someone’s real rep... but just interesting... Swing in and give me a shout my friend...:D
