According to a source close to the Eagles, two months ago the Eagles talked to the Dolphins in regard to Jordan. Eagles offered Graham and a 2nd round pick. Apparently the Dolphins didn't go. I'm curious why this is now just coming out? I have a feeling something is in the works.. Getting Jordan would be huge for our defense. Our OLB situation will be resolved. Can't wait for the draft.

I'm glad they turned it down. That's a gigantic overpayment. I'd be hesitant to even offer a 2nd without Graham.

Miami was stupid enough to draft this kid and let him play out of position, and, thus, he underwhelmed. Therefore, there's no way they can demand a high price for him. Also, who knows what this has done to his psyche? There are too many questions to offer anything higher than a 3rd, IMO.

Glad this didn't go through, picks are to valuable in this draft to piss em away like this. So it is basically two 1st or a 1st(graham) & a 2nd for Jordan since Graham was a 1st rounder himself, to high of a price tag to be left out of the early rounds in this deep draft.

Now Jordan is suspended for the season. Schefter was just on ESPN talking how they had a deal done for him. Never been a huge fan of Graham but thank god the Dolphins turned down that earlier offer. God only knows what Chip was giving to actually get it done. I have a feeling the NFL is going to school Chip with his pursuit of MM Thursday night.

I am worried Chip is out of his league as a personnel man.

Didn't want him, his career is in need of a Rolando McClain type make over now.

lol. He is out of his league because he didn't do something stupid? Just considered it? Considering stupid ideas is part of process. Perhaps Kelly purposely waited until Jordan reported for OTAs, knowing he would be subject to a drug test, and knowing it was a risk before making a decision? Could be why this was dragged out? In that case, I would say he is a very smart and savvy personnel man.

Well you were ready to trade Kendricks straight up for this guy, despite his two prior suspensions, so I guess I can safely say Chip is not as bad as you would be at personnel decisions.

If you recall, I prefaced it with concerns about his drug test. Only worth the trade IF he could play. Dion Jordan will be an Eagle a year from now I bet, probably at the cost of something like a 6th round pick.

Basically, drinking a huge amount of liquids to try to clear the drugs out of his system. The tests can show that.

I would think the Dolphins would release him after this season, then you sign him without having to give up any draft or player compensation.

It may be worth it to trade just to inherit the current contract. The bulk of the money was in Signing Bonus so the going forward terms are fairly agreeable. Plus, I don't think this year actually counts at all, so you have him under contract for several more years.

After what he has done (again) he'll be lucky if he gets a vet minimum contract, if the Dolphins do indeed release him after this year. What is this now, his 3rd failed test? Who's going to trade for him now?!?

#Eagles trade for Dion Jordan would have sent a conditional late round pick to the Dolphins, per a league source. Evan Mathis was discussed.
