We got him in that trade with the Raiders. From what I read, he was doing pretty well with them and was expected to be their kicker before a groin injury pretty much knocked out his season.

I love Eddie. I am a Gator fan and this kick was a rock star at UF. Big big leg and is consistent. Good signing for you guys however I do not know how he will deal with the weather.

Yeah, the weather has always been the biggest factor in finding good kicking here. It's been few and far between. We were spoiled with Gould and then Butler was good for his era in the 80's. However, if you really look over our modern history - it's been a shit show. Edinger was good in short bursts, but inconsistent at home.

Butler talked about the commitment and extra work it takes to kick in Chicago. How the only person he's seen actually embrace/attack it has been Gould. Claims he knew early on that Parkey didn't approach the task with the same reverence.

Let's hope he has a good head on his shoulders and is ready to work. Because I like everything that I see on him otherwise.
