I was shocked how mad Mark McGwire got. You could see him saying "this is fucking bullshit" to Matt Williams. I really think the Dodgers looked bad in this one and if it weren't for big boys like Matt Williams and Don Baylor being peacemakers, it would have gotten even worse. McGwire wanted to punch somebody.

Who does Greinke target next?

I'm hearing that those bush league sucker punches from Puig and Clayton Kershaw are going to cost them bigtime. This is the last thing the Dodgers needed.

Greinkie target next? It didn't matter who was on the mound that was going to happen. And I'm sure it was clear before Greinke ever went out there. Probably even got the middle finger as the sign before each pitch

:scratch: Of course he meant to hit him. That was my point, and it was probably made to clear to him, to make sure he did.

It just blows me away that the official Dodgers twitter account praised Greinke and Dodgers fans will defend that guy to the gates of hell.

DBacks were pissed cause he didn't hit him with the first pitch. I was just saying it didn't matter what pitcher was on the mound they were gonna plunk him there. this particular situation you really can't point at Greinke and say it only happened cause he was on the bump.

The suspensions just came out and I'm floored.

D-backs pitcher Ian Kennedy has received a 10-game suspension for intentionally throwing a pitch in the head area of Zack Greinke of the Dodgers in the bottom of the seventh inning, after a warning had already been issued to both Clubs earlier in the game;
D-backs infielder Eric Hinske has received a five-game suspension for leaving the dugout and for his aggressive actions during the incidents;
Pitcher J.P. Howell and infielder/outfielder Skip Schumaker of the Dodgers have each received two-game suspensions for their aggressive actions during the incidents;
Dodgers hitting coach Mark McGwire has received a two-game suspension for his conduct during the incidents;
Dodgers pitcher Ronald Belisario has received a one-game suspension for his aggressive actions during the incidents;
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has received a one-game suspension for the actions of his Club and for his conduct during the incident;
D-backs manager Kirk Gibson has received a one-game suspension for the intentional actions of Kennedy after a warning had been issued.
The players, managers and coach named above have received undisclosed fines in addition to their suspensions. Fines also were issued to Greinke, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, D-backs catcher Miguel Montero and D-backs outfielder Gerardo Parra.

No suspension or fine for Kershaw? Puig only fined? They're obviously justifying Puig's actions because he got hit.

roid rage

It had to be pent up decades-old anger at Gibby and Matt Williams? He was way madder than he should have been. Made no sense.

Even Dodgers players are puzzled by this nonsense.

I don't have a problem with the Kennedy suspension of 10 games.....it's essentially a one start suspension.....I've never understood baseball giving a starting pitcher a 5 game suspension.....all that does is give him an extra day of rest......

I have no fucking clue what Hinske did.......was he too provocative by placing his face in the vicinity of Puig's fist???

The only punches I saw thrown were all by Dodgers, but luckily they land them as often as they come up with a big hit.....

I have problems with the whole thing and I'm an objective party here. 10 games for Kennedy was unprecedented, Hinske's suspension was total BS, he shouldn't even have been fined if Dodgers who did worse than him were completely let off.

You know how you can tell these suspensions favor the Dodgers? Cause none of their fans will say one word about it. They're pretending like it never happened.

I agree it's unprecedented for 10 games, but honestly if you are going to suspend a starting pitcher, it should be a 10 game suspension....5 games means nothing except an extra day of rest.....it turns out due to our schedule it really won't hurt us anyway with the off days we can keep the other 4 guys on regular 5 day rotation......Hopefully giving Kennedy a break will help him get back to being at least a league average pitcher.....

I honestly don't think he was trying to hit Grienke in the head......as bad as his control has been and in that game in particular, I bet he was aiming to hit him square in the back....that's how out of sorts he his right now......

Yeah, you can just appeal the suspension til the day after his next start, drop it and give him a good rest. Greinke's history most definitely should have been a factor in reducing's Kennedy's suspension and increasing his own.

Hitting two people in the head is bullshit and should be a major suspension. Any pitcher that throws punches is a moron to start with, your arm and hand are your livelyhood.

But Kennedy is an asswipe for throwing at heads. Put one on their hip or lower back. The first one, I can say it just got away. Then to do it again, he deserves a Louisville-fuckin-slugger to the grill for that shit.

Kennedy needs someone to school him. I'm sure if he throws at another batters head he'll get a lesson he so richly deserves.

But yet no one did? Why not? Instead you had McGwire making a total ass of himself to one of the nicest guys in baseball and that punkass bitch Kershaw sucker-punching a defenseless man. But now the Dodgers wanna talk tough. I'd love to be defending you guys against the D'backs but you look like a bunch of bitches. It's really pretty pathetic. Donnie Baseball says it's not over? He won't even be around probably the next time these teams play. He should have focused on playing baseball instead of allowing Greinke free reign to terrorize. I just want to see Hinske on Kershaw. Then let's talk. Man vs. Boy.
