DeAngelo Hall is expected to speak to reporters in a few minutes. Out for the year. Needs surgery for torn Achilles.

DeAngelo says it was a complete tear. He's on crutches here at Redskins Park

:pound: glad to see DHall seems to be in good spirits, given the circumstances. He's reached out to Kobe Bryant for some advice as well...

DHall joked that he "might have been swinging his crutches" around had he been on sideline during the fight.

Well looks like we are about to get younger by attrition. And Im wondering if Porter is ever going to be healthy enough to actually play.

Could be worse, we could be playing Philly, New Orleans or Denver in three days. :)

Might be looking for replacements for Hall, BM and Clark next year... Dad is right, age at some of the positions is a concern regarding health and injuries.

With the way they are going on the rules, eventually secondary players will become all but useless any way. They are leaning towards either knock the pass down, intercept it, or give up the TD. Tight coverage or hard hits are being slowly dissolved out of the game.

Some of those PI calls yesterday were ridiculous. The one on Robinson was an outright joke. Yet another area where Goodell shines. Expect more games to approach 4 hours even when OT is not involved.

right now our defense is consisting of one year stop gap types at both safety position , CB and 3 d/line positions

now you have to do that some but age can hurt you if injuries occur

no we wont , next season when RAK is run out of town by the fan base that great rotation will be no more

that will hurt the defense

All of these injuries are so unfortunate. Now, we get to see what Breeland will do. It's his job to lose. As far as Hall goes, this could very well be the end of his career. He's not getting any younger and he has one of the worst injuries that a CB could receive, which is an Achilles.

Hall will get a shot to make roster next year. we signed him to a 3 year deal with back money ties. And assuming one of our Qbs works out, we cant afford the dead money from releasing Hall. So worst case he slides into the Porter role of oft injured #3 CB.

While I agree that injuries have hurt this team in some spots, the cornerback injury (Hall) is not among them. All along I've stated that he was better suited for the slot and that it was time that Haslett stop taking the safe route (aging vets). This team actually upgraded at cornerback on Sunday!! Breland came in and was tested early on, he held his own and in fact forced the Eagles to turn their attention to Amerson. Recheck the video on this one and you'll find that Breland was constantly in tight coverage. Chip Kelly is constantly looking for mismatches, because Amerson was still playing as Haslett has ordered......10 yards off of the ball, he was the easier target.

we all knew hall, clark and meriweather were stop gaps at this point. losing hall doesnt help. he was still maybe our best corner or atleast in the top 3. now breeland will probably get thrown into the fire which id prefer we eased him in and eventually he could take hall's role. losing a captain never helps.

Losing this captain does help, he should have been the slot corner all along, age and diminished abilities should have been obvious reasons to move him. BTW: if Hall was one of the team's best, then whoever made that evaluation should be immediately fired!!!

I know this is a terrible thing to say but I won't miss him. I know it's the nature of the position but I see way more bad plays than good ones. Whenever I hear the ref start up with "Personal fouls, number...." it seems to follow with "23" a lot.

We aren't winning this year anyway, let's develop the young guys.
