I'm reading that the 45 million may not be a truly guaranteed $45 million, but Dez is virtually assured of seeing at least $45 million of the deal. The actual guarantee number might be a little lower.

One thing with the high guaranteed money for Dez is it would surely prevent Dallas from restructuring him much. There wouldn't be much base salary to convert.

You can still give it to him earlier. In 2016 you can convert guaranteed 2017 salary into a 2016 roster bonus.
