Has anyone heard of the situations with Legendary Lloyd or Jumbo Gene Lamont? I have not heard either mentioned as possible candidates for other managerial openings. Of course if Ausmus lands in Boston, maybe Dombrowski takes them as a package deal?...thus ending Red Sox post-season hopes for years to come.

Who do you add to this rotation...remembering there will be no big free agent signings by Detroit.

Michael Fulmer (10-12/3.83)
Daniel Norris (5-8/5.81)
Matt Boyd (6-11/5.27)
Jordan Zimmerman (8-13/6.08)

aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh I was hoping maybe a Trevor Cahill or Francisco Liriano. Even Doug Fister. Of course Avila will give them 3 year deals at $15mil a year.

I'd be all aboot over paying Fister, or someone that might have value at the end of July, on a one year deal.

But that's a big risk for someone that doesn't completely suck.

Even though they now have plenty of room under the luxury cap, I can't see the Tigers laying out an eight-figure salary for any FA in 2018. Looks like a battle between Buck Farmer and Chad Bell in ST, or they trade Iggy/Kinsler for a borderline major leaguer who's still under team control and cheap.

For Kinslers sake, I hope he's traded during the offseason.

I also hope it's for a minor leaguer with potential. Not a major league scrub.

We're gonna be awful no matter what. Might as well build instead of just scab over.

100% agree with your last sentence. It has been rumored that the Tigers will pick up Kinsler's option with the purpose of trying to trade him. That said, I'm not sure what level of prospect we can get for a 35-year old coming off a .236 season.

I just hope it's not a lousy MLB guy.

I'd take an A ball reliever. He could help eventually.

(1) We don't suck next year until we do ... (2) I completely agree!!!

With the shakiness of the Tigers rotation (Fulmer's arm, Zimmermann's loss of talent, and Norris and Byrds' abilities) a decent innings eater would be a good investment (on a one year deal) IMO. I really have no confidence that Farmer or Bell, etc, will become even mediocre major league pitchers. If the front office wants to gather some young prospects from other organizations, as an alternative to signing a veteran arm....I'd go along with that. (My fear would be that they would just be taking some other team's Farmer and Bell, however.)

Well, there's hope, Tigers fans. The World Champion Astros went through a three-season stretch not too long ago where they lost 106, 107 and 111 games.

See you in about 2021.

Bye-bye Andrew Romine. He was claimed off waivers by the Mariners today. Detroit also gave Jeff Farrell, Jim Adduci, Tyler Collins and Alex Presley their outright release.

40-man roster now at 34. Not sure who is in the outfield next year besides Mahtook and Nick C.

A little surprised about Presley. Felt he earned another shot. With all those free spots on the 40 man roster, plenty of room for Ryan Raburn.

MLB Trade Rumors hint that the Tigers might sign pitcher Chris Tillman who had an awful season with Baltimore and PAY HIM $10 MILLION!. They know Avila Sr. LOL

Weird decision with Romine imo.

He makes a few holes less gaping.

Nice move by Seattle. Gardy must've opted for no Presley. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Unless they plan on Stewart and Gerber both making the team.

My guess is all were out of minor league options... had to be put on the major league roster. I too would have kept Presley. He has speed and some versatility to play all outfield spots.

Gardenhire announced his coaching staff. He kept Legendary Lloyd and Dave Clark. Replaced Omar Vizquel with Ramon Santiago at 1B. No more Geno. Gardy brought in his former bench coach with the Twins, Steve Liddle. Phil Clark, most recently hitting coach for Erie, is the assistant to McClendon.

LOL. I am stunned! No Detroit Tiger is listed among the 3 finalists in any of the major MLB awards. (Even Verlander didn't make the final 3 for the AL CY Award).

JaCoby Jones....not a ROY finalist? Say it ain't so!
