Well, let's call it the best "1 year and 1 month" of his career (August 2016 through end of August 2017).

The first four months of Justin's tenure in Detroit were absolute puke.

Season ended up well, but yeah, the cold streak prior to the hot streak was a tough way to start.


I would've been okay with him finishing out that deal, as the franchises cornerstone player tbh.

Maybe a mid season guy. Depends on when they give up on Boyd as a major league starter.

He got the best two years out of JUps career and then managed to bring in prospects before he opts out. That's how you do it.

I was gonna be okay with whatever happened on this front tbh. He's a fine player and I genuinely like the dude. I like the way he carries himself.

Hitting between Trout and Pujols can't be a bad deal for a guy to finish out a very productive season.

We aren't competing for 3 years minimum. Glad that contract is gone.
