Fulmer will be on the mound against the A's tonight. It's too bad I haven't had the chance to see him pitch yet.

He's got an electric fastball. And we saw last weekend what he can do when he has at least one secondary pitch working (the changeup, in this case). I suspect the secondary pitches will be hit-or-miss until he gets more experience throwing them to big league hitters.

Left-handed pitcher Matt Boyd will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo and start Saturday against the Oakland Athletics, the Tigers announced Friday afternoon, ending the mystery as to who would start the second game of the series.Zimmermann suffered a Grade 1 groin strain Sunday in a win over the Tampa Bay Rays, an while he hasn't been placed on the disabled list it was unlikely he would make his next scheduled start, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus later said.

Zimmermann was scheduled to toss a bullpen session today, the results of which are to be revealed later today.

Boyd, 25, is 1-3 with a 2.06 ERA in eight starts for Toledo, where he was scratched from making a scheduled start Thursday. He has allowed 11 earned runs and struck out 41 in 48 innings pitched.

That Kinsler one was tough.

Victor put his head down and started to slowly walk when Alonzo made the catch running away from the plate. Then Kinsler does what a good base runner should do, by drawing a throw. He had no intent on going anywhere on that foul ball. And Victor knew it wasn't deep enough to advance the runner to home. But, that's the kind of stuff that seems to happen when you make assumptions like Victor did.

We do suck ass on the base paths. Id like to know what Geno said to Country Joe. They were both yuckin it up.
