Right-hander Warwick Saupold is having an excellent season in Triple-A Toledo. Now he's going to get a shot to make his mark in the big leagues.

The Tigers announced Friday afternoon that they have promoted Saupold from Triple-A Toledo. The Tigers sent Daniel Norris to Toledo to make room for Saupold on the active roster.

Saupold, 26, is a 6-1, 195-pound right-hander from Perth, Australia. He is 3-1 with a 2.37 ERA and an 0.890 WHIP in 30 1/3 innings for Toledo this season. He is 28-29 with a 3.87 WHIP in five seasons in the minors.
