No just leave Gose in the 7th inning to fan with 2 men on. You could have shifted Upton there. Really doesn't matter because Gose isn't THAT awesome at CF.
So you are cool with Romine in left?

Bitching about a guy bring in the outfield then asking for things to happen that would make it happen again just makes its seem like you are bitching to bitch.

You are just doing anything you can to defend his moves. They were not optimal whatsoever.
I'm also pointing out how I don't like your moves in comparison.

Ausmus does a ton of shit I wouldn't do. Like JD in the 2 hole. Or McCann starting tonight. Or letting JV go too long(not so much this year.) or Upton anywhere but the bottom of the order, or any number of things.

This team isn't optimal. I didn't plan on them impressing me. I hoped and still hope for slightly over .500 by the end of the year.

All I ask is that when Brad gets fired(I'm absolutely planning on that happening before next season btw) so does Big Al.

I'm just not going to spend my entire summer looking for any reason I can to scream for it to happen NOW!

I didn't even start on that fact that he could have just rested Miggy for a 2nd day in a row. Which was another valid argument. Or not starting Salty who mashes against righties.

Edit: I'm with you on Al Avila being trash. You fire DD and then hire his protege Mayhew style. We agree more than you think. But you cannot keep this lame duck manager on the entire season. Send a message that changes are coming soon.

I planned on Miggy sitting twice this series. Mentioned it earlier in the week. Didn't really bother me that he didn't though. I'll take a sucky him in the lineup if I have to.

Douglass actually had a good idea of starting Nicky C in left. Problem with that is Upton's ego and paycheck. Which is too bad. And also brings me back to looking forward to someone other than Big Al making decisions next offseason. Or Atleast someone else signing FAs and jacking the payroll up by 30mil without improving the team.

Playing Romine in CF was ridiculous, but LF not as much. Upton has played CF before regardless of how much worse he is than Gose because Gose is not that awesome in center either.

And again.

I also want to mention that I was one of the few that questioned the acquisition of Upton in the offseason. I always thought he was a bit overrated and didn't fully play up to his potential as a top prospect.

I honestly believe a guy who is capable of playing shortstop at the MLB level is capable of playing most every position outside of catcher. They might not be all that great at it. But they could do it in a pinch. And center, to me, is easier to transition to. Right and left you get balls tailing away from you when a guy hits opposite field. That's the most difficult thing to acclimate to in the outfield, imo. Long throws also, but a cutoff man can adjust and compensate for the most part there.

But I still could do without Mike Aviles being on the roster, despite me thinking he isn't the worst option ever in the outfield.

The problem is Romine is just average at SS with average range. If you had well above average range for the position I would trust you in CF more.

He probably would have put victor in catcher if they tied it.

Same here.

He should be the 25th man on the roster. But he isn't. He's really the 2nd "best" option off the bench. Which sucks. And I'm giving a little leway on Salty being the top option. He hit homer early, but he is what he is. A low contact hitter without great value behind the plate.

They question Brad's 7th inning decision of not PHitting Castellanos in the 7th and he states because 1st base is open. No shit. Why I stated to PH salt for McCann then PH Castellanos for Gose. Move Upton to Cf and take your chances.

That would've got me going a little.

He's only caught 5 times since 2011. And not at all since 2014. He's hitting like himself this year and I wouldn't want to risk that for one inter league game in May.

To me, he's done catching.

Hold me to that if he comes in later in the year. Seriously.

33 swings and misses tonight. 2nd most in 15 years. Not for the Tigers. In all of baseball.

And this was the third time Ausmus has been involved in a 20K game. That's kinda crazy.

The Tigers are promoting outfielder Steven Moya from Triple-A Toledo, the Mud Hens announced before their game this morning. The Tigers sent Blaine Hardy to Toledo to make room for Moya.

Moya leads Toledo in basically every offensive category this season. He is hitting .310 (39 for 126) with 11 doubles, nine home runs, 24 RBIs, a .627 slugging percentage and a .968 OPS.

Hopefully Mr. Moya puts some pressure on Justin Upton and JD Martinez to "up" their games. Too be unbiased...Steven Moya also leads Toledo in Ks...but his K% is down from last year. I hope Moya gets several starts, soon, and doesn't just take up a bench spot like "Finger" Collins.

I'll be honest...I hope Moya pushes Upton to the bench. However, I am sure you will see Mr. Upton, and his bloated contract, moved to CF before he spends a lot of games on the bench.

(According to Baseball Reference...Upton has never played CF. I know that is incorrect, he did play a little CF in Arizona. Perhaps he never started a game there?)
